Wow Chill don’t know how you found the time to do this but thanks, and thanks for the birthday wishes too! I think I’m gonna retweet Taylor’s early “Happy Birthday” to me and say he doesn’t have to say it again.
I am usually working on putting out the gifts and filling the stockings at this time on Christmas Eve. Then everyone who is still awake comes and wishes me a happy birthday at midnight. Not this year. I”m in bed! Decided I just could not do any more tonight and will get up very early before everyone and finish in the AM. I think there are only a few stocking stuffers that still need wrapping. I even left a huge mess in the kitchen from the big dinner I cooked.
We did get to watch our DD & Family do their Christmas morning in Chiang Mai, and the grandsons (4 & 5) sang the Twelve Days of Christmas. If I got nothing else, that alone would have been my best present ever. They were hilarious! Oh, so precious… I only wish I knew how to video a skype video call.
In case I don’t make it back here in the morning, I wish all of you dear friends & fellow Taylor fans a most blessed Christmas day and fun, memorable times with your loved ones!

LOL DS #4 just came in my room to wish me Happy Birthday.
I made all my deadlines, so I’m finally in the Christmas mood. LOL Sure took me long enough. Next year, I start the shopping earlier, like October.

So I had something exciting happen today. Yesterday I went for a haircut, my usual guy. Love him. Haven’t let anyone else touch my hair since I found him. Anyway, he was selling raffle tickets, 20 dollars, and only 25 were going to be sold for a 42-inch Vizio HDTV. So when I paid for the haircut, I told him that even though I never win anything I’d take one. I didn’t even ask when the drawing would be. LOL I paid him with $100 bill. So I’m at my sister’s house and brother-in-law asks me if my cell phone plays Bad To The Bone. hahaha It does. He says, it’s ringing off the hook. I see that it’s my hair guy that had called, so I call him back. He says: You know that bill you gave me was fake. I went to the bank to make a deposit and they confiscated it. I’m like, What???!!! You have got to be kidding! He’s like, Sorry to have to tell you on Christmas Eve. I say, Oh my God, you know how many of those I’ve spent in the last week? haha!! I was in a panic. Then he says, Eh, I’m just kidding, you won the raffle.
I went to pick it up, then called my kid and told him he has a new TV. He was so happy. Now I’m keeping the Visa card I had planned to give him.

Kayla was absolutlely floored by the TV, she didn’t notice it cause we put Brodie’s motorcyle lift in front of it.. Brodie wanted to get a Vizio but Walmart is the only one that carries them out here and they only had the lower denfinition so he got the Samsung. Kayla had to be at work for 8 this morning, getting everyone up to do Christmas before she left was a task, Brodie had gone out last night, the first of his good friends got engaged last night, a few of his friends have had pregancy marriages but this is the first actual dating falling in love getting engaged, he said he kinda of got sick to his stomach that Jordan is ready to settle down and start a family he said it just didn’t click with him, LOL!!! He is very happy for Jordan and Nikki they make a really cute couple!

We had a christmas eve gift exchange and soup and chilli and then my son came by here and helped us set up the DHs new DVD and messed with my computer for awhile. And then I fell into bed, the whole week caught up with me. I didn’t think I was ever going to get up this morning.
House is still a disaster zone but I’m going to soak in a hot tub. The holidays are killing me.

I have to work a couple hours in the morning. My brother’s birthday is Xmas Eve, so that day has always been our day to celebrate the holiday. Glad it’s over. LOL

Twitter has been over capacity for an hour. Wonder why they can’t add more capacity, since it happens so often.
Taylor has been known to go skiing around Christmas time before and I would not be surprised that he is today. But he was still in Birmingham Thursday night . If they did go skiing , he may stay till New Years. Just hope hes having a good time wherever he may be.
We celebrated the birthday along with Christmas and as far as I’m concerned New Years too. I’m ready to get back to work, its easier on me then the holidays.
Right this minute with only two of us here today, my frig has a smoked turkey someone gave us, a regular turkey we decided to wait till tomorrow to cook, a half a large pot of soup and a big bowl of chicken and noodles. How the hell did I wind up with all this? And we are not hungry.
I’ve ate so much of my semi world famous fudge now that we may have to widen the doors. 
I’m going to try twitter again. Not had any luck so far.
Fudge! That is one of my weaknesses, you know. LOL Semi-world famous, I love that! I made fudge once, not a good thing.
My house is a disaster too, henry, so don’t feel so badly. Wrapping paper, gift bags, candy wrappers, LOL, everywhere.
Good for Taylor if he is sking. We are in for a major snow storm tomorrow 18+ inches 50 mile an hour winds blizzard conditions, should be fun.
Brodie and Tommy just hooked up the new TV its gonna take about an hour for the HD to kick in but the picture is beautiful for the few channels we are getting right now.
I got my new rug for my office, when we were there Tommy saw little accent rugs for in front of the closet and doorway and I said no didn’t want them. We got home put the rug down and I’m looking he said “I’m going back and getting the accent rugs, right?” I said yeah I think they will look nice so he ran back down before they closed yesterday and got them for me., LOL!!
My house is a disaster also I got the bike lift sitting in my LR and presents all over, I’ll organize everything tomorrow, too tired tonight, had cleaned dusted and vacuumed on Thurs shouldn’t have bothered.
Got a few pics of my very pregnant niece and the kids together Kayla is going to send them to my photobucket then I’ll put them up. Poor thing her feet and ankles are so swollen she can hardly walk.

I have to work in the morning for a couple of hours. Christmas on Saturday and off on Monday so work moved to Sunday this month. Yay me.
It sounds like everyone had a great day! Ours was nice but I worked a lot. The kitchen was a mess from last night even though DH put a load of dishes in the washer. Then I made a couple of cheescakes & later, Shrimp Etouffee for dinner. I gave up on the big Christmas feast about 8 yrs ago and made it a bit simpler. It was good but man, I’m really messing up my diet with the candy, cookies, and fattening meals for the boys. LOL
Hope your niece does not develop preclampsia JI! Fudge sounds good but the Peppermint Bark and Lindor Truffles are what are getting a hold on me! Help!!!

It has been hard to watch DD with MY iPHone all day. LOL She is thrilled. She does not realize yet I gave her mine. I’ve sort of hidden my new one from her. She’ll see it eventually & figure it out. Mine is OK, though I did love the G4 more. This one has a learning curve and does not seem 1/2 as fast as the iPhone. The worst part is very small space for music. I’m glad I didn’t get rid of my iPod – I need to keep it now.
Be careful with that bad weather everyone, esp you JI. It is extremely windy here and the temp dropped substantially. I’m not sure if we will have a “freeze” tonight but it will be close.

Tommy just ran out to get salt and sand, I’m cooking my turkey right now hopefully we won’t loose power. Brodie is supposed to be going to a concert in Asbury Park at the Stone Pony where Springsteen got his start, he made reservatons at a hotel right on the Boardwalk, so they can walk to the concert, told him last night he better call before they leave to make sure it hasn’t been cancelled due to the weather. They have blizzard advisories out for our area. Tommy’s gonna bring in firewood when he gets home so we have a supply inside got plenty of batteries and candles so we are set if it gets really bad.
NolaMar, When I saw my niece yesterday I was worried also that she is retaining water. She had been to Dr. on Thurs for her last untrasound and they said everything looked good baby is in place but were a little concerned about the swelling and will watch, so she maybe going sooner, I’m thinking the first week of Jan if she keeps swelling up, the baby would only be two weeks early.

It does sound like everyone had a good day yesterday. We are having a big Christmas get together on Tues. turkey and the works. Hope it is safe to travel then. it should be, as where I am they are predicitng about 8 inches but very windy and powdery snow. Some part of the state are supposed to get 12-16 “.
JI it will be worse where you live, but if it is powdery it won’t break power lines and will be easy to shovel.

And I’m done with work. I walked in the building 5 minutes to 9, filled out 4 sheets of paper and was out the door by 10 minutes after. Whew, I’m tired.
I’m really getting excited for the big vacay. I work Tuesday, and then I’m off until the 12th of January. What will I do with myself? Nothing. The icky thing is I have to work NYE at job #2. Unless I hit a lottery before then.
Rosie, They are saying we are going to get hammered. The storm is gonna hit harder in South Jersey. Brodie has pretty much decided not to go to the concert, a couple of the guys still want to go, but he is afraid if they declare a state of emergency they will be stuck down there for a few days. Its a resort area so not much is open, the hotel they were gonna stay in the resturant portion closes in Nov and reopens in April so they would not have food readily available to them. They called the Stone Pony and they said they won’t make a decision until after 4 today if the show will be cancelled. i told him to swallow his loss on this and just stay home, trying to keep my mouth shut and let them make the right decision. LOL he took me out for breakfast and said I know you would have cancelled yesterday but if there is a chance we would like to go, but don’t think the odds are in our favor this time.

I have to see if this works. I am like a two year old, I have no idea what I am doing. But I wanted to try this. It is a work in progress and I will probably take it down and finish it or just take it down. I was trying to put together a few of the things Taylor has been doing this year. At least I hope they are all from this year. I can’t get to a bunch of my pictures due to some miserable virus. And I may have used some pics without permission but most I wouldn’t even know who to ask. But I’m not going to leave it long. But I couldn’t figure out any other way to get it here. I wish I had the time to learn this stuff right. Now watch it not even work.

I want to get some of my personal pics on and make some vids of my own. So much to learn how to do , so little time.
This has been a day when I wish a man was living here. I bought a pre lit tree on sale today, lugged it in, and finally got it out of its sealed coffin. Then I spread its branches and set it up and pluged it in. One lonely light did not work. A tiny packet of extra tiny little lights came with it. Me being an obsessive nut case, spent over an hr trying to get one of those little lights with their tiny wires to work . 99 lights work, but all I see is the one at the top that doesn’t. I tried to hide it with all manner of hanging ornaments but the snowmen and santas listed to the side and I can’t locate my Xmas balls.
When I was out I bought special ingredients for a coconut cake, that you make like cupcakes. Got home and for the life of me I can’t find the receipe that I kinda recall putting in a special place. I’m going to screw the baking for today and screw the tiny bulb.
Oh the reason I could have used a man here was just to have someone to bitch at.
I’ll get you the Bulletproof audio, just give me a second. It will be over there in the box net box, okay?

I’m going to buy a tree at 75 percent this week too, Rosie. And I’m with you, I would notice the one bulb too and it would drive me freakin’ insane.
Rosie, haha!! I am like that also my eyes would go and stay right where that one bulb was out! I drive Tommy nuts when we put the tree up and lights are out, but hes good as I tell him which to change he changes them. The one year my angel I have had since I was a kid two lights went out on it and we couldn’t get it to work, got him so crazy, he said I’ll be right back went to the store and got a star, the end of my tree top angel!!!
I’ve done that too misplaced receipes have the stuff ready to go and don’t know where I put it.
The snow is falling, they say later tonight into tomorrow about 2-3 inches per hour right now we are about 1 /12 inches per hour. We ate at 4 and no power outage yet. Tommy went in to lay down for awhile, put a battery operated latern in my office just in case. Brodie didn’t go to the concert the Stone Pony called him about 1 and said they show will go on Thursday, but he has to work the next day so hes getting a refund. All workded out for the best.

JI, I wasn’t in the mood for a big snow here, so I’m glad it fizzled. I lit a candle, turned down the lights and was relaxing with just the tree lights and TV. There was the receipe right on the end table next to the couch. Going to bake tomorrow. Stay warm and drive safely if you go out tomorrow.
Rosie, Glad you found your receipe, happy baking tomorrow. Turkey was good, the kids cleared the table and loaded the diswasher for me, I just finished wiping everything down and getting the DR back in order. Went and took a shower was going to go downstairs and watch movies with them. A couple of Brodie’s friends made it over on snowmobiles, so I have a crew downstairs, so much for relaxing in front of the fire on a snowy night, LOL. Gonna have to get Tommy up soon the snow is almost to the point where its getting tough to open the doors.
I am seriously thinking of getting and artificial tree for next year. My SIL got one a couple of years ago its really nice, the lights are on it and then she just puts her ornaments on, no messy needles all over the place. The one we got this year isn’t bad but $45 for a tree thats only up for two weeks adds up over the years. We were shocked when we went to look one place had no trees under &80 smaller than what we got, we left there real quick.

You picky people make me chuckle. I can start out that way but it doesn’t take long and I’m just happy anything works. I get tired of worrying about it and need a nap. Fuck it, is my motto.

You won’t find the vid at youtube JI, I deleted it and am working on a better one. Hopefullly I might have it done by New Years. I got the music on it but still need more pics. It ain’t much but its been fun to work on. I have got to get this computer in better shape so I can do some different things.
Henry, Yes I was watching the news last night NYC and Long Island got hit hard, the storm hit hardest in the coastal areas. When i went to bed last night had on the NJ station and south jersey was already at 20 inches at 11, expecting another 8-10 througout the night, they said they had over 200,000 in south jersey without electricity cause of the storm, it was bad for them.
Thats why I couldn’t find the vid you deleted, I liked what you had so far, it captured moments throughout the year of Taylor events.

I did feel a bit guilty about bugging Taylor for tweets, but the feeling passed. Hate to think of him going to his page and seeing nothing but votes. Hey, maybe that is what he’s busy doing! It’s near the end of the month, so he’s probably holed up with his family and friends voting like mad for himself for Mr. Twitter of the month.
Hi Cochem. I saw those pics of Tay at the Oasis earlier today. He looked like a movie star entering the place.
We only got a dusting of snow, but the wind has been fierce since last night.
I made those coconut things last night. They are like large macaroons. Ate 3 of them and now I have a little tummy ache. Giving most of the rest to my SIL who loves coconut. They tasted great and only 110 calories.
Chill, Those hip replacements are tough recoveries. My neighbor had double knee replacement in 09 and had hip replacement this past fall, she is just going back ot work after the 1st of the year.
Rosie, Not fond of coconut usually leave it out if a receipe calls for it LOL!!
We have the high winds, Tommy came in from shoveling and his face was all wind burned from the snow getting blasted in his face. He said it was wicked the wind was just brutal.

JI My brother in law has had 2 hip relpacements several yrs apart. my sister nearly went nuts trying to take care of him.. They are worth it in the long run, but recovery is at least 8 weeks. I lit candles just in case the power should go and I have the heat set at 74.
Nola, I no longer worry what fans think of me. You have no idea what I went thru the first two months on blogs. I was just giving my opinions and some peeps acted as though I was a CIA agent with numerous alias, trying to infiltrate the mob. Anyway I’m sure everyone of us has someone who thinks we say the wrong thing at times. I’ve been guilty of critisizing groups of fans and it is normal to click with some points of view more than others. Now I mostly just poke a tad bit of fun, but mean nothing by it. To each their own.
At least the faux fan thing has died down. Those 2 words were rampant when I came on board.
Rosie, Ny neighbors first knee replacements lasted a little over 10 yrs, they say the hips last about 15yrs,so she is good for awhile now. Talked to her right before Christmas and she is doing really well.
I remember when you were so misunderstood, I got ya right from the start, realized very early on you spoke your mind but usually did it laced with humor!! There were some terrible times in 07 and 08 with the fighting the nastiness was just awful, thats the reason it took me til 8/08 to start posting, just didn’t want to get caught up in it, it was like you had to pick sides and take the risk of being put down by the folks that didn’t think like you.

haha nola, wouldn’t surprise me to find out they were off on a beach vacay and the whole ski deal was just to throw people off the track. I don’t really know why all the secrecy anymore, I really can’t see people trying to track him down. But how would I know , maybe there are one or two.
And what the hell did I miss here, are you talking about the house where you took the grape leaves or something else. I’m befuddled.
I don’t know if anyone has noticed but I have not ranted at anyone for awhile, it just isn’t worth it and I find it just isn’t important. I might have a rant left in me but it will be for someone of importance if it ever happens.

Jersey, LOL, your hubby is indeed a smart man. Remember, I had to talk her off the ledge after he confessed to the affair he was having. Definitely don’t want him to take up residence for ANY length of time in my 3rd bedroom. I like the boxes piled up in there just fine.
I don’t think it’s going to last much longer between them. He’s a cheater and cheaters, like Cheetahs, don’t change their spots.
I feel sorry for her, but what can I do? Chain them together? He always wants what he doesn’t have, so I’m sure he’s going to talk the “girlfriend” into giving it another go. Lots and lots of stupid women out there — or is it desperate?

Chill, So very true, she seems like a nice person, its unfortunate that he is the way he is. In the end he will be alone and probably can’t see that far inadvance. My Mom’s youngest sister had a man like that constantly cheated she left him, but when he got sick she took him back and cared for him until the end, the SOB left his money which wasn’t a whole lot to the girlfriend, had three kids with my aunt left them nothing!

Kind of the same way, I was going back to work today but DH had to go redo some blood work . I guess because some lab tech was so anxious to get away on Christmas vacay he forgot to do half of it. So we went to do that , ran a bunch of errands, bought some groceries , went to lunch, almost had a fender bender. Then we came home and I slept half the afternoon. Worse than working.
I’ve been fiddling around youtube and getting things ready for tomorrow. Hoping the weather stays decent so I can get back to work. I am more than ready to get back. I may not be when I see how badly its piled up tho.
Alabama plays their bowl game New Years Day in Orlando. I wonder if Taylor might go to that. I see he was back in Homewood today. Maybe he never left.

Something I got in a google alert today caused me to take a look at Taylors audition. His audition has always kind of fasinated me because there seems to be a lot going on.
Why did Simon seem almost angry, very nervous , chewing his pencil and looking at someone like he was thinking WTH.
I’ve read a bit about the way the idol audition process works or at least used to work, Its said that they often pass on putting good singers in front of the judges because the image isn’t right, not what they want.
Simon worked with the English producers to decide who got in front of the judges, I don’t believe that Paula or Randy had anything to do with who got to get that far. They jjust listened to what was put in front of them and decided.
I think Taylor slipped past Simon because Simon thought he was someone to be made fun of, always thought he looked confused and shocked at what Taylor did. Then Taylor stole the show right out from under him.
I think there was a lot that went on, someday Taylor should write about it but probably he won’t.
Just my ramblings for tonight.
Oh and the audition, if you care to see it again. Watching Simon just fasinates me. I would loved to have known what went on in his head then and later.
NolaMar, It happened back in the mid 60′s their might be something on the books now but back then the will stood up. She did sue the woman for his funeral expenses and won that, but thats about all she got.
Henry, I always had the same feeling that they originally put Taylor through to make fun of him, but Randy and Paula heard something no one else did and thats how he slipped through on them. I really don’t think anyone thought Taylor would make it to the top 24, but during Hollywood week Taylor showed them what he was made of and that he was there to win and he had a voice and he wanted it heard, he just took them all by surprise thats for sure. His performances were always spot on, he knew how to work the stage and make the music work for him, there was just no stopping him once he hit the top 24.
From what I read yesterday, there will be no top 24 this year on Idol, the judges will pick the top 12 and they will move from. there. Nigel said the top 24 always bored him, and that there will be alot of Country themes this season. Something about the folks doing actual music videos during the season. Guess we will have to see how the season unfolds, not so sure I like what Nigel has proposed to do.

Hi all. I celebrated Xmas yesterday and today with family. Today we went to the National Aquarium in downtown Balto. It was so crowded, lots of out of towners and peeps from other countries.
Tay said recently that the producers asked him to do the 2nd song at his audition cause it was good for TV. They had seen him before the judges did and knew his charisma and voice. They advised him to sing like himself and to not do the manerisms or imitate Cocker or anyone else. My thinking is Ken then came out after Tay’s 1st song and suggested he do something else and thus Paula said her comment. Even if the judges had not put him thru, the gray hair and quirkiness would have made good tv. that could have been the reason for Simon’s look, that the producers came out and suggested tay show another side of himself. Simon was wrong, but at the time I think he was being honest about not thinking tay was commercial or a pop singer. If you notice Randy looks just as surprised as Simon after Swanne River Rock. Those autions are edited. Tay’s comment bout some folks don’t know who Joe Cocker is, I think was in response to Simon’s reaction even after the producers intervened. The producers knew from the get go Tay was good for TV and the show.
ma;ybe rosie maybe but I will always wonder why Simon seemed so irritated and why he came up with that ridiculous reason for not putting him through. “they will not put you through to the final round” Well they don’t put most through to the final round . If that were a criteria no one would go. Never made a bit of sense.
But anyway, where the hell is Taylor going? I had to look up Tom Bigby river and turns out its Tombigbee River. hahaha. and its between Alabama and Mississippi, close to Florida. Where was the dude headed?
Someone bust his balls and demand answers.
Henry, i know Simon seemed totally annoyed by the whole situation, our guesses will have to be good enough, cause I don’t think we will ever get the whole Taylor story. It would make a great story line for a book, but I’m sure that won’t happen either as they control all of that stuff.

The man always has something going on, good for him! Glad he had some down time during the holidays with family and friends, just to kick back be himself and not worry about folks watching his every move.
Rosie, Gald your had fun celebrating Christmas with your family. Aquariums are fun to visit, we have a few around here, used to take the kids when they were small they were always amazed by all the different fish.
cochem, Thanks for the links, still adding shows this has been an awesome 6-7 months for him touring TD he has done really well with it, I am so happy for him that he has been filling his venues touring the CD.

I like my scenerio about Tay’s audition, be it fact or fiction. Simon was wrong about others including C.D. Simon admitted he was wrong bout Tay after he sang Levon. The Interesting crapola. Still think Simon gets that Tay was good TV, thinks Tay can sing, gets the charisma thing but sticks with the not big commercial record seller thing.
Daughtry did have a good voice and his music is top 40 and sells. Tay said Simon and Randy suggested he try to get in movies. While I now know that some things Simon and some others said most likely hurt Taylor, there is a bit more to the story as to why Tay is not more successful. Simon had power for sure and influence. Just do not think he was the One out to hijack Tay’s career. Simon just is Simon and talks off the cuff.
Worst thing is all day yesterday, fam was putting down Tay’s career as an Idol winner, his # of twitter followers, music or songs relevance, & being off the rador. Good news is every grandkid nixed Miley, hates J.B and only one of 5 likes T. Swift. The Jonas Bro’s r history. All adults agreed Tay can sing and deserved winning AI5.
Well JI, perhaps there is more than one Tom Bigby River. You would think Tay would know how to spell it. But if there is a Tom Bigby and a Tombigbee that is funny. We need someone from the south I think. This calls for more research.
Rosie, I could care less about people putting Taylor down unless its someone speading it all over the internet, those piss me off , but I just think Taylor is about quality and endurance. Not quanity, that comes and goes.
Quality can last forever.
I very rarely discuss Taylor with anyone.
Near as I can tell JI tombigbee and Tom Bigby are one in the same. Theres a river and a manmade waterway both same name, seem to connect. I get all interested when I don’t know something, have to find out what I don’t know. As far as Taylor is concerned could have been going about anywhere, maybe Nashville.
Taylor mentioned ELO and Mr. Blue Sky to his friend. Took me a minute to realize that was Electric Light Orchestra. I wasvery fond of them. I had an album I nearly wore out, most perfect music to dance or exercise to. But I was not familiar with Mr Blue Sky, So I found it, Taylors right that ending is something else.
Show us your talent! Taylor Hicks will host alongside judges Jennifer Hartswick & Ron Johnson as you take the stage solo or in a group. If the gong strikes, you’re out. Make it through and you could take the victory in the talent show!
I would give just about anything to see this. I bet Taylor has a blast with this Jam Cruise. Do you think its possible they might already be getting together and having a News Years Eve thingy before they leave? I have no idea , just a thought.

Poor Nola, we used to go through that with my MIL seems these bugs would always hit around the holidays. When we would go see her we had to wear scrubs, goves and masks while the home was under watch. One year when Kayla was in 10th grade, she caught it, we had been out with MIL for Christmas she came down the next day Kayla got it a few days later. Our Dr. said Kayla had the same strain that was htting Nursing Homes, poor kid was out of school for two weeks!
I’m sure the shotgun video of the jam cruise will be great, but I’d love to see Taylor unsensored which I don’t think we will see, LOL!!
