I read somewhere that it is not allowable to sing, enjoy, write or perform gospel unless you are a regular church goer. I was not aware of that .

He was souding real good last night, so many good things coming his way, but there are some that say he not a success, can’t figure that one.

A lot of it JI is just because they have nothing better to do and take great pleasure in trying to upset Taylors fans.
And for some of them, they just get such a kick out of it whenever anyone says anything bad about him. They really hate to see anyone else succeed. Just miserable people that can’t stand to see anyone enjoy anything. I would hate to be the people who have to live with some of these people, can you imagine living with that kind of negativity. That is if anyone WOULD live with some of them.
And you know if they had it in the mind that Taylor was going to be a megastar and some kind of music messiah/hero and it turns out its going to be a little different. Well, he must be punished for not living up to their expectations. All they care about is what they wanted.
I am ready to get out of that crap for a time, I would rather spend my time on promoting what little I can.
I am dying to get a bunch of those cd’s in my hands.
I am as good a judge of music as anybody, and I truly love this cd. I could make a few suggestions to Taylor about how he could make it even better but I doubt he would listen. But these are some good songs that he is going to blow away live.
I think New Found Freedom is going to be great, it will be a personal song for a lot of people.

Henry, Couldn’t imagine living with someone like that. Just can never see the good in anything. Taylor has his own style and either you like him for what he is or you don’t. I don’t think alot of these critics have taken the time to study the man, the CD is the CD but it is what he does when he has his live shows he gives the songs almost a whole new meaning in his presentation.
I look forward to seeing him when he hits Philly I am hoping he will have a shadow date there. Everyone who has seen these shadow dates are saying he has been perfection. You know what Henry I think Taylor is really where he hopped he be at this point and time, he just wants to perform his music under his terms not worrying what others may think and Grease is enabling him to do just that. He really is unique in his style and I think he is holding his own in the industry. I’m no expert but from what I have seen and read I think he is ok.

I see your discussing my favorite topic, Taylor Hicks. I do agree with you. Taylor is a whole different type animal than people are used to. There are groups who want him to BE a certain way, to attract a certain fan base, to DO and SING what they want. LMAO. It ain’t gonna happen.
Reading some blogs, while on my break today, I get the sense of certain posters, the anger they exhibit is incrediable! MY GOD. I think one of them in particuliar has been going round and round with this person, whose life seems to revolve around bashing Taylor as much as possible. Good grief, she’s hard to take. I get the distinct sense she’s a fan of MF’s, LOL. Oh, you probably know who I mean Henry. HA HA HA. That woman breaks the record for her variety of screen names, but she fools no one, especially me. HA.
So girls, the fact is…Taylor Hicks is a very different guy, he loves REAL music. This stuff on the radio today SUCKS. There are VERY few vocalists or bands I really enjoy listening to. GADS, its bad out there!! All that fake crap and mimics out the mind? NO THANKS.

Jeanni, So true about the music today, kinda of lost interest in following radio play in the 90′s. Just stuck with the type of music I wanted to hear, not the in your face they play today. Thats why Taylor took me by surprise when he was on Idol he was about the roots of music and performed the music that I always loved listening to, don’t care if folks think it is outdated to me it will never be that way, nor wil he.

Listened to the songs a few more times and like The Distance, I Live On A Battlefield and Maybe You Should the best. Nineteen may be the hit. I just do not care for songs such as Wedding Day Blues and Keepin It Real and call them throw a ways. To each his own. I though that the song In Your Time represented Taylor best in his pre AI music and feel I Live On A Battlefield best represents Tays taste in music on this CD. I’d like to see him do it live. I think 7 mile gets lost, but I know many love it. While I like his vocals on Once Upon A Lover, it is not my kind of song. All and all, one needs to know that I liked the TH cd and enjoyed his covers on AI. and am not a huge fan of blues. I enjoy good melody, catchy uncomplicated lyrics. So for me his TH CD had several potential radio hits and this new CD has a few also. The latest review is positive, should you care about such things. Rosie

I’ve been to itunes also. YesWeCan has a great funky beat. Love listening to that.
You know I wish I could “keep it real” and say something bad about some of these songs but really I just can’t . I truly do enjoy them all. No they are not all outstanding masterpieces of some sort but theres not a one of them that I want to skip over. Not at all.

Yes We Can has that theme also but it is the best of the bunch. I bet you will all like it.

Henry, I will order the video anything to help him out. I’m with you can’t say any song on the CD I don’t find pleasing to the ear, some I do like better than others but that is only natural. For me it is a perfect mix of Taylor.
I will be heading to Walmart a little later and Target after work. My mail doesn’t come until about 2:00, I would think the CD is coming regular mail, they said mine shipped Sunday. My son’s friend Will is due in from Iraq later this evening, I will be playing 19 for him when he gets here.

Henry, I’ve been seeing your Tay picture all along and thought you were going daffy when you complained. Just want to say I think IAG is fair to the posters. Well as you know I don’t mind a difference of opinion about Tay. In fact, last night was the first time I told someone to move on, ‘Maybe You Should’, go. Seems that some are having some trouble finding the cd , I hope some of it is because they were sold out but it sounds like some stores haven’t gotten it and Target seems to have a bunch without the bonus track and they are supposed to have it. My Target was well stocked and had the right ones so lucky here.

I got two CDs in the mail today from HQ, along with a few other things, lol, and I went to Target and picked up two with the bonus track. Target had both with and without the extra song, so it was a good thing I noticed that one of them had a red label. So now all I have to do is wait for the Wal-Mart delivery which, of course, I paid for express shipping. Hope it doesn’t take too long. I almost didn’t make it home tonight; it was really hard to turn the car off. This is really good. Congratulations to Taylor!
Oh, and the Target I went to had maybe 5 copies after I bought two. I’m not the type to quiz the clerk as to how many they received, but I did move the CDs up to eye level. Sorry Kelly.

What a day this has been, the CD, thanks to Cindy got Yes You Can and Indicriminate Act of Kindness from iag, then the topper of the day my son’s friend Will is back home from Iraq. I thought my heart would jump out of my chest as he came up my front walk. Didn’t want to let go of him, but with Spring Break lots of their friends are home so they were all meeting at a local watering hole, to welcome him back.

YW Jersey. Glad your sons friend is home. My nephew just enlisted. he finished boot camp now he is doing training with missiles or something. He comes home in 6 weeks for 4 weeks than is going to Korea. Something about them tearing up peace treaty, is what his Mom told me.

I’m upset about all the Targets that don’t have any CD’s or the wrong ones. The way I read Walmarts site they never said they would have it in the stores, that is why I ordered it on line.. Poor Taylor, this is a bit of a mess.

When I went there to do it, it called it a gravitar , I saw nothing about an avitar. Thats where it asked me about the rating with no idea of why , I figured PG would be good enough. I mean really we are not PG? Its nuts. The only place it asked that was when you signed in to change it. Now it won’t sign me in. Just keeps refreshing the page.
And how I realize that a gravitar is a global avitar, it follows you around from place to place globally. Well, NO THANKS, I don’t need a damn fingerprint following me around. It nobodys damn business where I go. In fact I don’t even want that brown blob following me around. If thats the way its going to be I’m out of here. It won’t even let me in to find out.
Is there a way to just get rid of the avitar altogether? If you can figure out how to get in let me know. I put in my email and password and I know they are right and it just refreshes thats all it will do.

Henry, click on your start button, then click settings, then control panel, then click on the mouse. There’s a place to orientate your mouse. The mouse might be disoriented after its run-in with the apple pie.
Or try this first, actually! You know where the little ball is on the mouse — ball, not balls — well, take that cover off; wipe down that ball and all the little rollers in there with a dab of alcohol. And look for lint on the rollers too. The lint could be causing the problem. It does get a build-up; how lint gets in there, I have no idea, but it does.
LOL! Okay, how about I just change them up every week until you figure this thing out? This avatar/gravatar is called “Mystery Man,” is that better?

Yeah, it would follow you to any WordPress blog. The way around that is to use a different e-mail address to have another WordPress account. You can have more than one.
And that gravatar was one of the improvements they recently made.
What was the other improvement , not letting you in to change anything?
Maybe you have to delete your temporary internet files before you change and save a new avi. It’s worth a try. The mystery man will go away once you get it to work.

Click on start button, then settings, then control panel, then internet options, then click on the “general” tab. Delete cookies, delete files.
How do I know I’m not delete something I want, the last time I deleted cookies I lost the password to every blog I was on and I couldn’t remember any of them. Until I get this mouse fixed I’m not doing anything.

I just got a chance to listen to my voice mail messages and there’s a message from a guy friend. He’s telling me that Taylor was mentioned on a Chicago radio station this morning, about 5:30 a.m. The DJ is Johnny B and he’s on a station called The Loop, 97.9 FM, a rock station. He didn’t go into detail but said he was talking about the new CD being released. Did anyone happen to be up this morning and hear that? haha I know I wasn’t. I’ll return the guy’s call in the morning to get the scoop.

Taylors been turning up all over LA today. Hes getting way more publicity for his CD this way , staying in one spot for a time while he is in Grease than he ever would on a regular tour. I hope he can tour it someday but this is working quite well for now. Hes going to be performing at that marathon thingy on sunday. I hope there is some sort of recording of that but hard to say if there will be.
Anybody who gets the TVguide channel, Taylor was on it tonight and it may be shown again tonight. I say 11:00 tonight but don’t know if that was pacific time or not. I don’t get the channel , so far it hasnt’ been captured I don’t think but I will keep checking. It was one of the Idol shows , I think the one with Justin G. and Kim Caldwell.
Henry, I liked your old Avi better and the one before that even more. Henry bitched and became a ghost. I and some others never bitched about our thingies, yet now we are ghosts. Where is my green thing which proves I am rosie/rosem15. I enjoy it following me as I speak my drival, here and there. Did any of you see Tay do a half hour, as co host on Idol Tonight? He was wooing all over the set, smiling and seemed to be into holding the mic, his MC role. New gig for Tay: Master Of Ceremonies, extraordinaire. Henry, we posted the same time and he was super tonight on Idol Tonight, 7-7:30 and the again 8-8:30. He gave away CDs and gave his critique of about half the top 13. He said Danny Gokey reminded him of himself. He said Megan was good looking. He was complimentary to all and IMO stole the show from Justin and Kimberly. It just showed me one more time how much he loves the entertainment field. He lives to be on camera and the camera loves him. He is living day by day and in the moment, a good thing.
I hope someone gets that Idol Tonight show, it sounded like it was good. Its not unusual for Ellen to just have a musical guest. They don’t alwasy talk. He did a great job today anyway. I been reading about some other things that sound interesting also.

Sorry, so far I have not come across anyone who captured it. Don’t think anyone expected he would have such a big part. Guess he took advantage of being in LA. The audience kept holding up their copies of Grease and Justin mentioned he saw Grease opening night and that Tay stole the show. I don’t recall this much on line hype of his first CD, but granted he was on prime time shows back then, singing The Runaroud and just off his win had all the props. The CD is absolutely addicting, like the more you listen the better it sounds. Have said from the get go about the CD I heard that raw emotional Taylor throughout , some did not agree with me. Have also said I still see the same live performer that I saw in 2007 he still gets lost in the music. To me nothing has changed just his day/night job with the wings but the passionate singer has never left.

I read on the BB that Skeeter’s son has been hearing 19 on a country radio station for a few days where he works. He also heard 7 Mile Breakdown. Maybe I’ll check out a country station tomorrow. I did notice Tay is wearing a country jacket and leaning on a fence, looking like a country boy on one of the CD pictures. I still have not received my Amazon or Walmart shipments, so I’ve been taking my Target one in and out of the car. When Track 12, IAOK is done and then #1 The Distance starts blaring with his booming voice I get a jolt.

I’m having one messed up night. I decided I better fill up the tank tonight instead of in the morning, because I always say I’ll do it, then I wake up late and have to pray all the way into work that I don’t run out. So I put in the debit card, get the pump going, then go inside to stay warm. I’m chatting with the girl inside, as I usually do. Long story short, haha, I finish the chat, go outside and some lady says to me: “Is that your car?” I look over and the pump is just gushing all over the place! The freaking thing didn’t shut off like it’s supposed to. I’m like, Oh, great. There’s a huge puddle of gas under my car and it’s running all down the side. To put it in perspective, my car has a 15-gallon tank, it was not on empty, it took 23! haha! They reimbursed me, after another chat.
Chill, When I saw the pic on the back cover of the CD I said the only thing missing is a piece of straw hanging out of his mouth!!!
I think NJ is one of the few states we do not pump our own gas, an attendent always does it. I believe the station owners can be fined if a patron is caught pumping gas, thats how strict they are here. Glad it all turned out well for you.

Listen, I’ve been called a fanatic over on Straw’s blog quite a few times, it doesn’t bother me. I don’t analyze him to death or analyze what he does to further his career and get his voice heard; nothing he does causes me to lose sleep. I enjoy Taylor the musician and Taylor the entertainer. If that’s their definition of fanatic, then I guess the shoe fits me. I learned long ago it takes a thick skin to stay in this fandom.

Like anything else things tend to get a little over the edge with things. I think we all took something from IAOK as we all have probably dealt with that type of situation within the family or close friends, I know I have and it is heartbreaking to go through. The emotions in his vocals just floored me.

I don’t know if anyone is around to play with me tonight, since it is date night. Does anyone want to make a prediction/guess about Tay’s first week sales number? This is not Dec. 12, 2006 when he had huge first week sales, but I believe this CD will have a much slower start but has legs. Who knows it could have legs that stretch for 2 years! Just thought it would be fun to mull over our ideas on first week sales of The Distance. Today, for the first time I became a fan of Seven Mile Breakdown. I think his voice is wonderful on this song. I like ‘The Distance’ for the beat and lyrics. I’m into Nineteen for country and radio play, love Battlefield- Tay personified, enjoy WGTHI, and am still gah ga over ‘Maybe You Should. With the divorce rate so high and the pain of lost love and the ties that bind, for me ‘Maybe You Should’ is his masterpiece. It hit me personaly, where it hurts so since I’m kinda like everyone else when it comes to love and commitments and life I think it is a universal song and his raspy voice suits it so well.

Hey, Rosie! Saturday is sleep-all-you-can day for me, not date night. LOL I’m not good with the numbers game, as far as predicting CD sales, but I think it’s going to get off to a slow start and will do outrageously well over time. It’s great music and it will have its day.
Last night, I pulled the plug on the jukebox in the lounge I work in and played the CD for my captive audience. LOL The audience last night: men who love their country music. They gave some of the songs a thumbs-up and all agreed that he has a great voice. Being that they had a lot to drink by the time I played it, they weren’t into listening to the ballads and made me skip them, but Seven Mile Breakdown was a hit as was Keeping It Real. I only work there on Monday and Friday nights, but I put the CD in a safe place and will break it out every chance I get. I have total control of the music.

In closing (zzzzz…) while I appreciate how clever a parody it is, I find the bickering between fans to be pointless and embarrassing. I’ve never participated in putting down anybody online.
I think we should rise up towards each other. And then I think we should build a bridge kind of like, oh, I don’t know…brother to brother. Then like, on that bridge, we could take the steps we need to take to get us to a better place.

My oh my! First off, let me vouch for Tappanga. The first time you post on a WordPress blog, you go into moderation. I had a link for the greyISH site in moderation. I posted the link. So if it was any of the regular posters, they would not have gone into moderation in the first place, including Asses. Yes, I know, anyone can change their e-mail addresses, but I think the IP is a little harder to disguise. I did a search of all the comments here with that IP address and did not come up with a match.

I enjoy reading Grey and the posters and have only felt a need to go in strong in defense of Tay, now and then. This lady got this billboard back in 06 I think, its really, really big and she lugged it to the Leno show and never got to get Taylors attention and she been waiting forever for him to come back to California. Now she carted it to Grease or wherever he was to get him to sign it and finally success!! And Bill signed too after tripping over Taylors head on the sign.

She asked the guys either putting it up or taking it down what they were going to do with it and they said, “throw it away,” words to that effect. I remember seeing a picture of it that was posted and it was freaking huge! She had it laid out on her lawn. hahaha That is so great that she finally has Taylor’s signature on it. And Bill’s! I can’t watch the video because I’m still having a conflict with you tube. *sigh* I’ve narrowed the problem down to a browser/flash conflict, but hell if I know how to fix it.
