Okay, one Starbucks doubleshot; two Tylenol; one large bottle of Evian. I’m good to go.
I read this today and thought I’d share it.
We are all somebody’s troll.
One man’s troll is another’s hero – depending on whether you agree or disagree with his or her views.
If you agree with someone, you naturally think he/she is smart. That’s because you think you are smart and therefore he/she must be smart to share your views.
If you disagree with someone, then you naturally think he/she is an idiot. You can’t possibly think of him/her as smart because that automatically means that you are an idiot to hold opposing views.
I think I have played EW too much. It’s beginning to sound warped. Do CD’s warp?
Oh well, I have two more…lol.
I gave one to my close friend, and she and her husband really liked it. He got out his guitar and started to figure out the chords to The Fall. There is ALOT of great picking in that. But they never heard anything Taylor did, so let’s just say there were surprised.
When I left their house last night, i walked to the door and said goodnight to my friend, Beverly, she is a doll. Well, guess what was playing…
“My Friend” and I told her to listen the Georgia next, and she will love it. She called me on my cell as I walked home, and she said “oh my God Michelle, he is amazing!” I said “I know.”
One fan a time. Be well.
I will be in and out, but always around.
Take care.
BL
It looks like a snowman…with a butterfly for a heart…with two fairies each sitting beside each of his feet.
Trolls are not heros. They “get off” on causing disturbances…because they have nothing else to do that arrouses them. I truly feel that no one will admire them, adore them nor love them or even use them to give them that arrousal, therefore…they search for genuine fans or good people that are happy and thus they find pleasure in trying to bring them down and steal their happiness because of their lack of it.
Then, they try to run off those that they envy and are jealous of that they truly wish they were like. They obviously believe and think that they can actually aquire that happiness that they have stolen, but, the happiness taken is lost…and not within their grasps. They are Sadistic. Sadism. They can either be loners or find other lonely evil hearts with dark souls…and become a cult.
Lots of sick individuals on the internet. Is it worth it to enjoy a topic, artists, movie, actress, anything and join a forum or blog with the rampant worldy scoundrels that feed off others happiness? Only when a website is knowledgeable about their rights…and that is to ban and delete them. It is the only way. Seems that many would have researched how to run a forum especially since it can be rewarding. Instead…they allow the boards to fill up with the cultist…and then ask for those to ignore and don’t feed the trolls…when, in fact, it is too late for that. Unless those in and of authority are ignorant, they should and probably do know who the trolls are and who have opinions and are outspoken. Hiring smartass mods just escalates the problems…as they tend to identify with the hateful trolls in their own lonely hateful worlds. Once a board has been infiltrated with these haters/not debaters…not people with differing opinions…not those that just want to question things or relate their thoughts…but, knowlingly taking sides with them and then later realizing that they made a mistake…and then banning them only to find out that they have multiple partners *cult* and also multiple accounts. Like a disease…or an infection…it kills and destroys. I have read that some owners of blogs/fansites know what is going on and “get off” on watching the chaos. SICKOS!
I want to say thankyou to those that have the moxey to have stood up to those that have tried to control and troll where Taylor is concerned. Because, it was beyond the IGNORE or DON’T FEED process. It was too late for being reasonable…they don’t understand that and those of us that were determined to stand up for Taylor…DID make a difference. People like Chill that saw that there should be a place where people could go and celebrate their passion and interests in Taylor. Always welcoming newcomers with a smile and a cute joke. We all did not get here without having been on a journey that was hard and cruel…some less than others…but, the truth is…for a member of Daughtry’s band to identify it, raise hell about it…and ultimately denounce them…and see them for whom they are…not fans…gave me a new perspective about the Daughtry band. I think this man should be given a letter of admiration and recognition. He had the balls to do it. Coming from him…it made an impact. So, cool people have made a difference and I hope those with good blogs, good fansites and magazines or whatever…continue and don’t allow defeat. Winners aren’t quitters.
If we have a new poster here…HELLO! Sorry, did not see your post.

chill…This is a great assessment. I agree. lol. Now since you posted that I guess that makes me think you are smart, is that right?
Well I actually do think that, so in effect, this is correct, in it’s most basic assumption. Good job.
I thought about it further as is my nature to do so. I analyzed it. Is it possible to agree sometimes with someone, then on another topic disagree? My best friend and I are in agreement about many things. I tell her so too. Then when we get to politics, and the discussion of the presidential race, we don’t agree, and I tell her so too. Does that mean I think she is stupid?
I guess I am wondering if at all times do we all have to agree on everything? If we do, agree with everything one person says, does that mean we think they are smart or does it mean that we can’t think for ourselves really?
I don’t always agree with anyone on anything, it is natural to not agree is what I mean. But not agreeing does not mean that we think someone s stupid does it? I agree with what you wrote up there to a certain extent. In pshchology it is called a self-serving bias. That bias is very dangerous because it indicates a closed mind and a resistance to change it once it is made up.
I wrote about change on my blog today, and I mentioned that change is painful, and many times leaves you out in the cold. But I like to keep an open mind about things. It DOESN”T mean I agree with everything that anyone would say.
We are all open-minded on this blog, and I thought your post was very insightful. It underscores alot of the problems in the fanbase for Taylor. We need to accept differences, embrace them even. I hope my post here is not taken wrong. I just wanted to comment, hoping to stimulate discourse that brings the fanbase closer, more united.
I walk my own road, and I agree ONLY with ideas or principles, not with with people themselves.
I agree with you, brightlite, so I guess I think you’re smart too. I think my point is, it’s okay to disagree. I don’t want to live in a clone world and if you’re looking for total agreement amongst any group, it’s an exercise in futility.
Since I’ve been a bit “under the weather” today, I’ve been doing some online reading, too wiped out to do much else. haha Anyway, the topic of my day has been online communities; the good, the bad and the ugly.
Here’s a definition of “troll” that I came across. Interesting, don’t you think?
The traditional definition of a troll refers to a member of a community or usenet group who makes posts deliberately designed to attract responses of outrage or indignation. It is the troll’s intent to “hook” unsuspecting members into responding, (hence the term “trolling”), thus providing him/herself with the satisfaction of knowing they have impact on others.
Stay tuned . . . more to come. It has been a fascinating read. This shit did not begin with and is not exclusive to Taylor’s fan base, that’s for sure.
A distinction must be made between true trolls, newbies who are undergoing growing pains as they attempt to adjust to community standards, and regular community members who simply have strong but otherwise harmless, dissenting opinions. Trolls should be removed, newcomers assisted, and contributing community members given at least a modicum of respectful distance.
I am strange, I guess, but I can read someone I strongly disagree with and still think they are smart. If they write well and can make a good point in a concise way I can even learn something once in awhile. I don’t have a problem with admitting that I am not perfect sometimes. I am quite sure that not everyone that disagrees with me is an either an idiot or jealous of me.
This video may seem silly but there is a lot of good information in it. The troll is always after the EMOTIONAL response.
They can always be starved , if they get no response except from their made-up personalites and their own buddies, they will eventually move on. Most of them really hate being laughed at also. They really take themselves quite seriously.
Henry, what I posted up there was meant to be troll humor. I am shocked at what I’ve been reading. haha I had no idea that what we’ve been experiencing on the fan sites has been studied and written about. A cultural phenomenon. Who would have thunk it?
Why is being a Taylor fan so complicated?
I just want to listen to his music, enjoy his entertaining shows, and watch him grow and evolve as a musician and performer.
It doesn’t matter what board you go to, it always becomes about rolls, chrolls, and everything else that makes being a fun, not fun.
Chill calls it a cultural phenomenom, I don’t know what to call it except boring.
When we get back to Taylor, I will be back!
henry a couple things from apost you made yesterday…I didn’t see them until today but I never read any of tbe books that were mentioned. Davinci Code is one I started but the book called into question many religous ideologies that I wasn’t read to face at the time. I might pick that up. Charlotte’s Web i think I may have read as a child, but certainly it isn’t on my reading list today. lol. Seat of the Soul sounds fascinating! I am sure to get that and read it. in particular I want to read about the dolphin soul and the sixth sense. So you “bet” I read them, and you owe me now.
Pay up.
oh I meant trolls not rolls. And I apologize in advance if saying talk of trolls and chrolls is boring. I am SORRY. To me it is boring. I am not saying it isn’t important to you guys, it must be if you are talking about it.
Does this sound fsmiliar?
Carry on…
oh yes, chill. Trolls are pretty much the same kind everyone went to school with. The one that picked on the kid least able to fight back. You know, the kid that always took everything way serious and got all bent out of shape over every remark and ran to the teacher with every problem. So they picked on him constantly and continously. And then got together in groups and ganged up on kids like that. Its the same sort of thing. I certainly don’t know everything but I did a lot of watching and observing from the inside. I know a bit about how they work. I can almost always recognize them. And many who are not trolls most of the time know how to be trolls when they want to. The control they have over peoples reactions makes them feel powerful. Like puppetmasters.
You have to cut the strings.
Now for some fun.
I put one similar to this on the last blog. This is short but very, very, close and oh, so good.
When you get to youtube be sure and click on the “play in high quality” and put it on full screen.
Chill, I studied in College a similar thing. For instance…a column in the newspaper that is written to conflict with common thoughts or is written to shock or cause anger. The paper gets hits and people are angry. This type of thing has been going on for ages…some of those that chanced to cause sensationalism…were hung, shot or jailed…you were definately taking a chance in causing a disturbance…I think beheaded was in there too. They do it to get a rise. There are those that are very intelligent however most angry and hateful. Then…the followers, who are nothing more than mimicks…and posers. They try to learn what the head “Troll” does…however, are never quite successful, especially where there are rules, restraints and other intelligent persons that are on to their intentions. They have been described as ants in your picnic basket. They seem to follow…and don’t understand why. Just like the ant. OOPS…squash…got one! HAHA!
Well now you are talking my language. Kids in schools! Bully’s are everywhere in schools and thye pick on everyone for the most part. They really aren’t selective, they go for targets like kids that are different, not necessarily serious.
The thing about a bully is they don’t care very much about anyone but themselves, they are truly selfish individuals who cannot see outside their own little cosmos. I know many kids who do bully, I see it in the halls, kids being pusjed into lockers and punched in the gut as everyone walks by in a group, and no one does anything about it, they all laugh, and encourage the behavior. It’s too bad that the bully’s are usually very insecure and are not able to relate to people at all, and so instead of trying to relate, they use “tactics” to belittle and hurt anyone that they percieve to be worth hurting.
Are you saying henry that the trolls and chrolls are bullies?
Is that right?
I have always been able to spot a bully from a mile away. They have a tendency to over-react as you wrote about the ones who get picked on. bullies don’t think too much, they respond with force and attempt to hurt.
This is a great topic now that you have twisted to this spot. We just had training on this type of behavior in an In-Service and I learned a great deal there about it.
First, brightlite, I’m interested in the whys and hows of things. And personally, I find the subject to be relative to having fun on the fan sites, that’s the reason I was reading it. When I first came online to find info on Taylor, I found a group of like-minded individuals that shared a love for the quirky gray-haired guy. It was fun to “meet” people and talk about Taylor with others that were as taken with the guy as I was. I was always aware of the dangers that lurked on the internet, I’m not a kid, but Taylor Land always felt safe, to me. Safe enough that I met people that I went on cross-country road trips with for the first time while packing their suitcases in my trunk. The sites that we congregated on back in the day are not the same safe-feeling places, and I’m interested in the (il)logic behind it, the reason for it, where the turn to wrong was. I’m nursing a hangover and indulging myself. LOL
I like what she says about the video: “this is where I get caught by Taylor videotaping…..at around 8 or 9 seconds in……I’m only doing this for you Taylor……..some people don’t get to see you so I want to share you with them…..” hahaha
There are a lot of good points made in this thread. I’m not sure I agree with the quote about trolls. I don’t consider someone a troll just because they have a different opinion than me. A troll is someone who comes into a thread and makes a comment that they know will cause people to get angry and start arguments. It’s done intentionally, not because their comment is actually their opinion but because they want to cause trouble. They enjoy it, that’s their entire reason for joining some sites. They like to frustrate people and reek havoc.
I suppose Henry is right when she says that all people can be trolls. I admit there were a few times when I was a troll. I did this because of an ongoing feud between fanbases and because I was angry about some things that were done to Taylor and my friends by this group of disruptive people. I am happy to say that many of the people involved in both sides of the dispute have seen the error of their ways and have been working toward peace and harmony. There are a few who don’t want anything to do with peace and refuse to stop. Oh well, I guess it’s their loss. For me I’m tired of it all so they can do what they want and I say to them whatevahhhh. Here’s one for those of us who want to move on.
Why, esmie, that troll has been identified as the destructive troll. “The primary purpose of this type of troll is to completely destroy the group it has infiltrated. Destructive trolls may work on their own, or possibly in teams or gangs.”
haha, see what I’m talking about? Maybe the residue of tequila has me fascinated with the subject.
One more tidbit on the troll subject and then I’m done. LOL
High-end harassment tends to be widely recognized as a clear crossing of boundaries and an invasion of privacy. It is common in troll attacks, volatile personality conflicts, and may be a component of online stalking.
High-end Harassment may include:
# Publicly posting private and personal information about a user (pictures, address, phone number, name).
# Impersonating (or attempting to impersonate) a member.
# Knowingly spreading false rumors about another community member.
# Spamming a member’s private mailbox.
# Sending viruses or trojan horses to a member’s private mailbox.
# Attempting to solicit information about a target from other members.
# Repeated interactions with a member after they have firmly requested that you stop.
# Public attempts to turn other members against the target.
# Explicit or implied threats of harm to the target or their loved ones.
As unpleasant as it is to talk about, this is happening to Taylor’s fans. I don’t want to dwell on the subject or rehash events, but there is a methodology to a troll’s madness.
That’s quite a list chill and with an exception of a couple of things listed there I wouldn’t even classify that person as a troll but instead would call them a criminal. Most of the things on that list are illegal.
Chill…
I’ll first reply to the last message. I certainly acknowledge that both myself and Cbb have been on the brunt end of those offenses, it’s really invasive. Most times, they twist the information around, making it literally false and spread rumor’s and cause stalking.
I too enjoyed joining the TH fansites. What fun! It was fantastic (I don’t mean the AI message board). Then we noticed all the visitors, those visitors then used Taylor fan screen names, some even used three or four and joined one board after another. They would come on a thread and do what they knew would cause bickering. Some of these people used Taylors name as a way to make money. Even fansite owners were not TH fans. All that combined was startling and shocking and honestly, was unsettling.
Cbb…I like your message…very interesting! Reminds of 19th Century England and where the rumors and those who started them caused the scandals that ruined some of the noble families there. This has been going on for quite some time, as in forever. Thanks for sharing it.
BL…Yeah, would love for the fansites to be free of those who just can’t enjoy Taylor without the constant bitching about something. Some people are never ever satisfied, they always have complaints. Negative and downers. Whew. I just stay away when all that happens, its too much to read the typical answer to a mess like that…”MOVE ON”…that does ZERO to solve the problem. Also the fact that most fansites have AI topics, that’s another bickering point for chrolls and trolls to join a fansite. NOT good.
I also believe that due to photo’s shown of fans with Taylor, it causes jealousy and envy. Lord knows, that’s part of it. If you add trolls, chrolls, jealous fans and those who just can’t ever think positive, then you have a mix of trouble. OH well. All those women? Hm. Has anyone seen that OLD flick, “The Women”. I loved it. You have to see it. Perfect example of gossip and rumors and no men and humor. LOL. Cool click flick.
Henry,
The video (close up) of Taylor in Grease is SO darned cute!! Adorable! Loved it. Thst lucky little redhead! She is TOO cute.
Bullies in schools…Brightlite…you are a wonderful inspiring teacher. I think that educating our children about bullies tht later become criminals or trolls or whatever…they usually end up in jail…if not having served time in juvenile…is a very good thing. EDUCATION! Parents go about their daily lives and most working their asses off and are tired and have to cook, wash, please the family and get their homework done…watch a little TV maybe, and then be wonderful in the sack. The day begins early for them. I think parents aught to talk to their kids…but more than ever, the responsibility is on the teachers. Most of the stalking and ganging up and clicks and groups that are full of hate even if they are abused at home…no excuses. There should be mandatory in school classes where this is discussed and children should have to act out scenes and ALL should have to participate or…go visit juvenile for the day…behind bars.
I personally, had a child beat up in my yard. I wasn’t home…and fortunately, my daughter was not hurt…but scared. This larger friend of my daughters was taking up for my daughter, as the jealous *not so pretty or well to do* gang girls attacked. They broke this girls jaw, busted her eardrum, broke her teeth amongst other things. I pulled in as I was home when my daughter got home or soon after…from my work schedule…My daughter and others that were a witness including myself…had to go to court. We did…my daughter was afraid and the judge ordered them down the river without a paddle if they continued and if they even looked toward my daughter for having been honest in court. OF COURSE…this lasted a whole day. The threats became obscene…at school…and the girls got by with it. My daughter was terrified. They hired a full time police man that was sweet to my daughter and walked her to most of her classes…I called the probation officer to the creepy little biatch teen that attacked my daughter’s friend…that BTW, had to move to get out of the area…but, this probation officer did nothing. I then called the judge…and nothing. Now days…threats are no longer. They are considered terroristic threats. ALL THREATS…are considered terroristic threats!!! So…maybe there is a chance for those children that either have bad upbringing…or have been abused or are mentally ill…to get help in the system that our tax dollars pay for.
Teachers are underpaid…and not appreciated like they should be. I was a supply teacher in my daughter’s school…plus a commissioner for ten squads of girls from ages 6 to 15…or maybe 16…for years…also coached…so, I know what kinds of families there are out there…I know what goes on with these kids…I know how most of these kids just want to have some attention.
Sorry to get off on this…but, it does start when they are children. Once these kids grow up and are violent, and just trying to control people…”CONTROL” is the main element of a Troll…Bullie…or gang…because they are out of control and have no control over their own lives. Loose cannons. When they grow up and become adults…no one feels quite so sorry for them…they are not so cute anymore…and their actions are no longer a slap on the hand…they end up in jail…using more of our tax payer money…I wish their was an island where we could ship them all…let um survive if they can…and if not…BYE BYE!
Did anyone see this article on the Republican Convention? – Toward the end of the article – -
Will there be any famous people left for the Labor-Day-adjoining Republican National Convention? Sure! Gretchen Wilson will perform and Patricia Heaton and TAYLOR HICKS are expected to make appearances in Minneapolis. And of course, there’s always Ahhhnold.
Characteristicallyb,
Sounds good to me girl In the mean time, right now, I’m enjoying “Early Works”…simply amazing, the remastering is perfection. Lord, Taylors voice is so easy on the ears and yet he grabs the heart too. He’s a wonderful songwriter, I’m loving it.
CTB, I hate bugs! I thought a similar thing at first glance…but, focused on the right side of my brain. If I have nightmares tonight…it is all your fault! I actually thought…Beetle or Roach. I will be shaking out my soft bedtime snug and tall furry booties from VS…before placing them on my feet. Did you know…they climb into shoes? Especially boots…I check my sheets and blankets every night. Shake out clothes. Even if I see a dead one…ewwwwww! I finally get up the courage with about a whole roll of paper towels to scoop it up. I’m a girlie girl. If bugs were only pink…that might help. I even have a hard time with whole crabs…just a little too close in resemblance to a ………, can’t say the word. EEK!
CTB? Did you say you’re bitchy? OH…sorry, I see now…you said ITCHY…hahahaha!
I am choking down a wonderfully thoughtful appetizer (made especially for me) of shrimp cocktail w/ yummy HOT seafood sauce…now, I could have a problem if the heads were on them…I do NOT want to think of Shrimp as bugs…but, they do resemble them…YUK…I don’t think it is gonna be that hard to loose those pounds after all…BLAH!
Persian cats? Taylorismine? I had several…the last one…was stolen from me. I lived in a condo and this old biatch that lived across from me took him once before…and I heard him crying for me in her fenced *small* back yard. I did not have a backyard because I was in a flat overlooking the pool and clubhouse…no green area…so, I walked this cat on a leash. YEP…on a leash. Great cat. He would wear clothes…a real beauty…WHITE…awesome! OB was his name…well, for short. He was Obadiah. Anyway, he got loose once…although he did not mind a leash at all…and found a pretty young kitty…and of course, this old bat swiped him. My daughter climbed the fence to get him. SO…When I was moving…he got out again. That same old battle-axe…took him again. We did everything and even called the police…she hid him or something…old friends saw her with him months later…I gave up…trying to catch her. I moved 50 miles away. So? My cat story. Well…gonna go back and concentrate on my shrimp…ut oh…forgot, shoot…*CHOKE*
Thanks chill for the welcome. I am much calmer now. I was a in a Nursing hangover and I should learn to not post when I am sleep deprived and really unable to participate in any discussion. All of the posted videos have helped me mellow out to my usual emotional level. Thanks again for the welcome. I will try to lurk less/participate more.
I know this sounds weird but I compare my Talor experience to the the movie Close Encounter of the Third Kind- remember the scene where Richard Dryfuss had to make the mashed potato mountain on top of the dining room table- thats the way I felt when I discovered Taylor- I had to get with others who understood how I felt. I have only had good experiences with Taylor fans.
Atleast 95% of my experiences have been good with Taylor fans too. It’s been a really fun 2 years and I’ve met a lot of nice people, flown across the country to attend concerts with people I’ve never met in person and made a lot of special friendships. If anyone would have told me when I logged on and first posted on the boards after watching AI season 5 a couple times how much my life would change for the better because of the gray haired guy I would have never believed it.
A fly? Like the movie, Chill? Oh man, that movie tripped me out! Loved it…but, ewwww, some of it got to me. I heard this weird buzz down at the lake today. It was a locust. Strange kind of large fly looking creatures. Metallic wings. Prophetic. Large! Chill, did you put this sort of blot test up and you don’t know how to analyze us…or know the answers? OMG…well, we could get in touch with that woman that analyzed the photos of Caroline Lyders…yea, that’s the ticket…and she could tell us that we are all right. Seems she would say whatever we wanted to hear…oh, but, we would have to throw her a fifty or something. Got any spare change?
Hello battay! If you have gone to sleep, then good night…Wanted to tell you that I hope that your experience with being a Taylor fan are all good ones. Please don’t let *if it happens* others getcha down. Some just don’t realize that humans are posting…and not machines. Also, some unload their frustrations…and probably go to sleep quickly and sleep like a log. Rather it not happen…but, do not get discouraged…ever! We all adore Taylor here. We all wish him the best…and we love new friends to share our thoughts of him with. Thanks for being here.
Morning! Glad to see some new TH fans…Welcome to Chills
Ms. Chill, what’cha doing with that “thing” up above? Joking, I know what for, I’m not gonna give an opinion on that one! I guess I missed the fun last night…went to sleep early for once, so here I am, up early. I have a lot of work to do here in my in-house office, so be it.
I too have met some really cool TH fans, especially here and also at the concerts. Just didn’t have enough time for “talkin” cause we were actually so into the concert and Taylor, that WAS the topic. Exciting and fun, as alwsays.
Thanks for the hot photo Henry8. Taylor being Grand Marshall at Madi Gras was an honor for him and he even had his OWN float, that was SO cool! Theres a video of that, have y’ll seen it.?Cbb and I have family in New Orleans…Two of them heard Taylor sing with Limbo…They said it rocked! Wish we could have gone that time, but we couldn’t work it out. Actually, most of Cbb and my family who live down there… leave during Madi Gras for Aspen to ski…they have the week off during that time. Schools are out, the whole works.
HAHAHAHA!!!! CTB…We can be fellow biatches but just remember I am the biggest biatch!…LSFH…(my newest which means… laughed so f’ing hard)…anyway…was awaiting your comeback. Hey, you got so good with those smilies…Must have practiced. I lost the list. OH…Sorry I have confused your taste buds…ya know, this all started with Chill. It is ALL her fault…hee hee!
WAIT CTB ………………………………………….
Bottom dwellers? WTF else dwells on the bottom? No friggin wonder they invented those little shoes called jellies. I was always afraid of stepping on a jelly fish. Have been stung by one. OMG! I have to tell ya…it was like fire and knives and needles and oh well…the swelling and blisters/whelps…then infection/fever. OK…enough, Now I have probably scared everyone from the ocean…:)
I really don’t swim in the ocean that much anymore because of the rampant sharks…and shark attacks. Down in Taylor’s neck of the woods where he vacations and his grandmother resides…that is also a family spot for us…those damn sharks are there every time. I think most know on this board that I was a champion swimmer from my long ago competitive days…and I used to practice with my team in the ocean…it is much harder to swim against the current…and it builds muscle…big time. So…I loved it. I surfed…I could not stay out of the ocean. Till…the dreaded attackers have since multiplied. I am fast as greased lightening in the water…but, a shark? I was always told to punch them in the nose hard…or reach out and pull their eyes out. I probably would have grabbed on like I was riding it…because I could hold my breath FOREVER. and riden that sucker and pulled out his gills. I just don’t want to have to deal with it…I tan on the beach and play a little, drink frozen and potent goodies and listen to great bands…scuba in safer areas where the water is crystal clear…and no sking or no jet skis…not in the ocean for me…you can not see them…and they want you. (Needed that mean smilie with teeth showing)
Listen, I fished from a friend’s huge fishing boat about gee…you could see the shoreline…and we caught many sharks. I watched a news report while in Orange Beach where the news men were in helicopters and you could see hundreds of sharks…big ones thru the clear waters…and people out in jet skis and swimming…SO? I would think twice. Even the bay can fill with sharks, don’t believe anyone that says any different…friends of mine found sharks in the intercoastal in fresh water. That is where the water turns from salt to fresh and mostly fresh where they were…the sharks were adapting to the fresh water. How bout that? Anything that I can’t outswim…I don’t wanna be around. After breaking state records, NO way could I beat a shark. Maybe a lazy gator or crock…but dophins and sharks are fast. Dolphins can be dangerous as well. People don’t realize that. In private…I will tell you what has happened to women. The ocean is a mysterious and tranquil place…beautiful but belongs to those that live in it. I used to pretend to be a mermaid…that was my favorite game as a child…I could stay under water while swimming fast for over 200 meters…and get a second wind/air. Then continue to swim without getting air. That’s a long time…not moving, just under the water…now? Over a minute. No problem. But, I am pushing myself DOWN because I float too much. So…that takes energy.
I will enjoy the beach, clambakes and places like the FLORABAMA and hope to hear or see Taylor down there some…certainly LMBO. A friend has just offered me a beach house in the gulf coastal area for free…just pay the maid service. COOL? I need an escape from now and again.
So…CTB…can you answer my question…what else do we eat that are bottom dwellers? DON’T you dare tell me that Lobster are down on the bottom. I still consider Fried Crab Claws my favorite food of all time. All thru Alabama, Florida, and the coast up thru GA, SC and NC. I would imagine some other coastal communities. I found one place here in “A” that serves them. YUMMY! Good broiled too. Jeanni fell in love with um…my fault.
ONE last thing? When someone is writing on a blog about ME amongst others here…ranting and looking like a fool…and no one comments, unless she runs and pretends to be a commenter…would you find that the obsessions are getting a little old? Copy cat themes…expressions…I say…no one bother looking anymore…I was actually sent an email or I would not have known. Actually…Taylor is aware of it…and he knows the truth…he knows WHO and so does grandma…and that is all that matters. EVEN those that think they are so in…ARE NOT. Taylor is a cool kinda guy…kinda like those we call “Lurkers”…LSFH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chill…
If you didn’t know (smiles) Mardi Gras began firstly in Mobile, AL. Believe me, they do close schools… They have festivities for MG, with parades and the Mardi Gras Ball of which I’ve been to more than a few times. I’ve also been in the parade in a full length gown, like from GWTW….
Some of the family in Mobile do leave though, they prefer to be skiing in Aspen and have invited me and Cbb. We need to go next time, it seems we always have other plans…one of those was a TH concert I believe, LOL.
It’s a BIG deal in Mobile and of course New Orleans…But not many people realized it originated IN Mobile, AL. Check this out, its really cute…
Jeanni…something else that others may not know about Mobile, Alabama…is that the city is pumped up. It was underwater. Originally…you entered into Mobile thru an underwater bridge which is still there…goes under the bay…fun becaue all blow their horns and do little contest with different beats…but, people are buried above ground…not underground or they will hit water. Part of New Orleans is pumped up as well. Maybe all of it. All I remember thinking as a child is that if I dug down too far with my little bucket and shovel…I would hit water. :O
CBB, what are you blaming on me now? LOL I don’t see a bug up there, I told you, I see a killer fly. How I’m getting blamed for people not eating shrimp anymore, I’ll never know. haha Jeanni, have you said what your interpretation of the ink blot is yet? I’m sending all the responses off to be analyzed, mine included. Some woman named Lois in Texas.
Cbb and all…
I guess this could be considered “Other guilty pleasures?” (grins) –
If anyone has actually seen an old map of America, then they would see MOBILE, it within the loop of FL and was considered French and Spanish territory. Mobile was there when nothing much was. Most of the other states were merged as one. Such as Georgia encompassing ALL of Alabama, except the northern half, which was part of the Tennessee territory, which in turn WAS North Carolina. Very complicated. I would think portions of Mobile’s land may have been pumped up at one point or another, but it was a land mass surrounded by the Mobile Bay and the Gulf and clearly one of the oldest settlements. Here are a few details –
Spanish explorers are believed to have arrived at Mobile Bay in 1519, and the territory was visited in 1540 by the explorer Hernando de Soto. The first permanent European settlement in Alabama was founded by the French at Fort Louis de la Mobile in 1702. The British gained control of the area in 1763 by the Treaty of Paris but had to cede almost all the Alabama region to the U.S. and Spain after the American Revolution. The Confederacy was founded at Montgomery in Feb. 1861, and, for a time, the city was the Confederate capital.
Mobile itself is one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever seen, other than perhaps Charleston, SC.
I know that Dauphin Island was pumped up and didn’t exist until that time. Its about a 45 minute drive from Mobile. Hope that helped?
Cbb I’ve never been a good swimmer. I can dog paddle at best. I don’t think I’d even attempt swimming with the sharks. I do like to eat them though but not as much as shrimp, lobster and crab. Yum
Taylorismine what do you say we take a road trip to the republican national convention? I don’t care what your political stand is Taylor is going to be there! Think about it. I’ll even drive your van with all of your liberal bumper stickers haha.
Jeanni I’d love to go to Mobile someday. I’ve actually thought of relocating to that area or else South Carolina. I’d have to see where I can get the best employment opportunities. I’d love to live near the coast where I can eat lots of fresh seafood.
I was hoping that the Target thing was going to include that DVD. I’ve seen it, but I would like to watch it uninterrupted, lol. I watched it with family who don’t always get my Taylor, um, what’s the word I’m looking for?
I’m debating on my question.
Must get it just right.
Then some one needs to tell him if he answers them we’ll send him another basket of beer.
Chill, did you see his answer when someone asked him what he had learned on Broadway?
After thinking about any number of questions that he would never answer. I might as well go with one that he might. Don’t know why I am curious about it but I am.
When traveling all around the SE, what was the very worst vehicle he ever had to drive.
Dumb question, I’ve asked it before, I still want to know.
henry…dejavu…you tested every one of um…you must have done what I did…forgot um all…thanks to CTB…for the link.
My question for Taylor? When/Where are you gonna start touring? That will answer when the new CD will be coming out…even though he could tour with EW. JUST DO IT…Taylor…after his Broadway stint…shake a tailfeather right over here in Atlanta…glad to go back to Tabernacle. OR…Smith’s. OR…anywhere. What if he waits till his club opens and has a concert 5 nights a week…that would be cool. But, that is a year from now. That is neat, have your own concerts in your own club…smart man that Taylor. Won’t be long. Hope ole Reuben gets his club going too. He is a sweet guy. I just did not think he should have won. Although…who knows…he might become a real buddie for Taylor being that they will be in business side by side…two fun clubs…OMG…what fun…can’t wait.
Another good question…When is that club opening? Jeanni…did you not report about that from the B’ham news?
I will think of a couple more questions just for the heck of it. Right now I must go to bed. We had a couple truck loads of stuff come into the store today.
Depression glass, older green glassware, pottery. All good and all dirty. Someone cleaning out their grandmothers house. Lots of work. But fun.
Chill are you seriously sending our responses of to a woman named Lois?
I’d like to know if he’d be offered a role in a movie what kind of movie would he most like to make. (I’d like to see him in a love story with lots of making out scenes )
I damn wish LMBO would be his band…I don’t think Loren Gold was with them…but he stays…don’t take my Loren away. Hey my friend from another few boards…had my same crush I think…she had some great shots with him and wish she would get her bootie over here and post…She had many photos of she and Loren. His fingers are magic…his face, well, precious…sexy and enchanting…his demeanor, well..like I said…HE FRIGGIN STAYS!
Are you talking about Salmon as in what Taylor likes to eat? Hm. I’m with Cbb…the croquettes are good, if their prepared the right way….I think Taylor probably likes Steak and salads. I think he probably has a heathy eating thing when he’s touring…He does enjoysouthern food, he said so. Grits are one of those…:) Do you girls remember the morning show he did in Birmingham? Cooking? That was so cute!!!
I remember how excited he was to be on the show with Martha Stewart. His realization of what he had accomplished and that he was a real celebrity had not sunk in yet…but, I haven’t noticed him change at all…except, unfortunately, he has to be careful from those that could cause him harm…bet he wasn’t ready for that part of being a celebrity.
I went to a closing…the closing attorney and I clicked. Right off the bat. Found out that her hubby is a famous blues performer…in a famous band…and she used to be in the same circles that I was in and around Atlanta. Met and knew the same bands…jammed with them like I did. It was such a small world. Well…these people are still at it…and have invited me to some blues/jazz clubs that I would not have stepped my toe in before knowing that they are cool hangouts. So, I am excited…gotta practice my blues moves on the keys…before doing any jamming especially anyone really famous. They just kind of hide away…no one knows that they are there, playing and having a ball. She also knew the production company owners that brought all the bands into Atlanta just like I did. It brought back wonderful memories for me…and she looked fabulous…so many times I have been told that I looked like Stevie Nicks but damnation…she does…my eyes are blue so that part did not work for me…hers are brown and beautiful. This was so fun…and this next weekend…I am there. Some of us may not recognize each other…but, that is ok…all we have to do is chat a while…it will all come back. Just had to share my news of making an old connection with you all. For some reason, I had never met her. Strange. Hope to see some dear friends that I have lost touch with and hey, I am ready to get back into the music scene…so, looks like God is heading me in the right direction. Sometimes, I feel like I was given this gift…not something I earned…or paid for…but a gift from God…and not to use it, is like, well…really bad. I fills me up to play. Music becomes me.
Esmie said: “I’d like to know if he’d be offered a role in a movie what kind of movie would he most like to make. (I’d like to see him in a love story with lots of making out scenes.”
No Chill…it would not be hilarious…it would be STEAMY…and you would have to get out the hose…many hoses…to put the fire out!
The theatre would be filled with women and he would have to double up on the body guards. I volunteer to be one…heeheeheehee! That man is HAWT…time for an old word…THUD!
I think he would like to be in a comedy.
Thats a pretty good question.
Theres a bunch of stuff I would like to ask him about AI. But I don’t think he would answer so there wouldn’t be much point.
I would ask him if there is a date that he is determined to have the new cd out by. And if he might do a video.
And if the new cd is delayed awhile, could he give the fans a little sample of the music in it. Just to keep them from going beserk and running amuk.
I would like to ask him this.
Taylor, some fans were a little worried that being in a Broadway show might make it hard for you to be taken seriously as a musician. I don’t really understand that, do you?
henry…I think Taylor answered that last one over and over again. I remember him saying…and this is not a quote. His emphasis was on touring being the success. He also implied that he was not in that “scene” where he would be flavor of the month but in it for the long haul. There were many other things…and he did say that he sold a MILLION PLUS and he sold plenty more after this as in Asia. I used to get into it with a particular person…ugh…that thought that soundscan figures were the bible. Soundscan only reports from certain stores. Retail types of stores. ALL of the stores that were not connected to Soundscan DID NOT report. That is a fact. Also…when we found out what soundscan does…it blew us away. They have targeted stores…*not Target* but certain picked stores that they *soundscan* use and take their figures and double, triple and even count one sold ten times fold. That is their way of saying…OK…we made up the difference for those that were not counted for the stores that don’t report to us. That my friend, is BULLSHIT! It is not actual figures. Let me say this too…I want to get this right…and If I am not mistaken, Jeanni can correct…but, the board at Soundscan is run by record labels and mogels. SO….now think about this…when they PICK the stores to pump up the sales of a cd sold…making one CD sold turn into TEN CDs sold…which stores do you think they picked? They won’t tell. If they told…supposedly, all of the fans of a certain artist…would run and buy the CD there. To establish a huge inflation of sales. Now…this is where it gets really bad. The stores that are chosen…knowing the record moguls control…if they were to promote…”DAUGHTRY”…well, what sort of people buy his CDs…where do they shop…??? What kinds of stores are attracted to ROCK music? It could easily have been manipulated to be that they picked stores in Malls…or Record Stores…not stores like Walmart. These kids want to go and hear loud music playing in the store…having a larger selection to choose from…the atmosphere…and IMO…those were the stores that were chosen. WHY? When a band like Chris’ band…does not sell tickets to concerts that are huge…like the GA Dome…or Stadium…and have to rely on other performers to bring in the fans and fill the seats…if you sold Millions of CDs…and actually DID sell MILLIONS…you could fill those places UP…and not be playing fairs. That is my point. IMO…Taylor sold lots more than what was said and he even said it and I don’t ever think he would lie…not ever. From his OWN lips…in an interview that was videod…that he sold a million plus. He gets paid, right? That means he knows how many f’ing records he has sold. However, if the numbers are inflated…thru Soundscans system…which is NOT exact nor should it be legal…then WHOOPS…just like I said a long time ago…Here is the church…Here is the steeple…open the door…where are all the people? To me…Taylor’s tour SHOWED and PROVED that he was a success big time. He made more money than Daughtry. Proven. Stats available. Why is that? Because he sold his cd’s out…and they never replaced them with new ones…never put his cd on sale…did not have it exhibited out where anyone could see it…did not promote it…but still millions bought them and went to his concerts. The other fellow, was paid appropriately…less money and I actually felt a bit sorry for him…cause they used him too. He is stuck in a deep contract. They have fulfilled their promotion of him. He does what they say…plays where they tell him and with whom. Taylor is free. Now that he is free…he can rock and roll and his money making is going to skyrocket. He has all the time in the world…he is not the flavor of the month…he is here to stay. Legends are made of what Taylor Hicks is made of. Look at his fansites…look at the google alerts…who is the MOST searched musician…forget where…was it google? Anyway…it was TAYLOR HICKS. Those assholes that he got away from that robbed him of millions of sales of more cds…for instance…in ASIA…I was talking to several ladies from the Asian soul patrol…Taylor’s CD was not in the stores until 6 months after release. They ordered thru Amazon because they wanted them so bad…still took a month to get it. This is all in the past now…and all those obstacles that other AI contestants, and winners have had to indure…that are caught in that WE OWN YOU phase…I feel for them. Ruthless and heartless money hungry bastards. Sorry chill…had to say it…they are.
Chill…
I’m not on CCola…hee hee…I think the world of music is a tough thing to understand. Especially when the only reason for a grammy now days, is how much a singer has sold, or rather, his label / management and only if it’s in the top of Billboard? Its all quite a complicated mess if you ask me…I really don’t have any interest in it at all…because of what I’ve read about it. The only reason I would have to even watch the grammys for instance… would be if a singer I liked were appearing. The grammys really don’t mean anything…they’ve lost the luster for me.
I enjoy real music, a tour like Taylor’s. Its such a pleasure to hear a really fine band, watch a singer whose mulit gifted musically, who actually IS a singer and doesn’t have to have a bunch of people around him to support HIS sound. What a great pleasure that is. Taylor’s the REAL thing…NOW, thats CCola.
Well, I would have some for sure. I would like to know how he learned such self control when gossip blogs were slandering him? How did he manage to remain the gentleman he’s always been?
He just didn’t think they were worth acknowledging whatsoever. – - Wonder how close I came?
Henry8,
Taylor’s said in live interviews that he has plans for his solo tour to be sometime in the Fall with his release of his soph. CD. He also suggested that the DVD would be as well. Most artists take at least a couple of years to do a CD, Taylor writes a lot of his own work, that takes time. I admire the way he’s kept his fans alerted to what he’s doing…seems like no one is paying attention. He told us already. Right now, he’s doing a job, a fine one at that in Grease…this is an opportunity for him…and I really like the idea. He’s become even more polished on the stage. SMART man that Taylor!
I would love to see him in a romantic comedy. Taylor’s handsome, great with the camera, funny and I think he would be a wonderful leading man. Would love to see him in film. OH YEAH. I would be first in line!!
I know what he said CBB, but a couple of statements made lately sound as if there may be some delay.
I would just like to ask about his time schedule again to see what the latest plan is.
Coke, who? Me? How did you know? Chill…have you been hitting my stash?
Yes, henry, most of us did know…and I also know that we are all soooooooo looking forward to the release that we are anxious. It was a good question…all of them have been. Need a coke?
OH…one thing more…Chill…I totally agree. Everyone that I have spoken with was totally disgusted with the grammy’s…really, any of the award shows…because they are all so…fixed. IMO! If from the beginning of how you get to be a contender for say…the grammy’s, was legit, and these other things were correct and not some mega giant squid corporation like Soundscan and that Billboard crap…then, fairness would come into play.
I remember when I first found out about payola…and to know that it had been going on so long ago…and that Clive had been fined and charged for criminal activity…I got so interested…because what it did was to open the doors to my constant questions about WHY am I hearing that same damn song on the radio? I remember thinking…”What in the hell do they do at these stations…put a long reel to reel in and fall asleep?” Like a long tape of day after day, hour after hour of the same old crap. The radio stations have RUINED good songs for me. I guess if you are a teeny bopper…then maybe you don’t mind the repetition.
I have a friend that is a DJ…he is in the kind of station in NC that does it like they used to. Plays what he wants and is not told what to play. He loves Taylor. Big conglomerates happen in so many phases of our lives. Little banks get bought out by big banks. Little stores get bought out by big stores…One day, the small businessman will be history…owning your own business will be extremely difficult unless you are foreign. Competition is almost just between the big guys. Sad, the condition of this country and….the world.
I heard a staggering fact on the news yesterday. Don’t quote me…could have been more…but 50 percent of the USA is mortgaged by foreign entities. Could have been 60…I was so shocked and walking by the TV…stopped and thought about it. I KNOW THIS…Most mortgage loans are processed and serviced out of Mostly India but other foreign countries too. If you buy a new home…you can request that your paperwork, servicing etc…be done in the USA…BUT…you pay a higher interest rate. Yep. I have talked to more lenders in the field of business I am in…one man…I could not even understand his English. I asked WHERE ARE YOU? He quivered out…India. I sighed…knowing that all our information is out of this country and in a country…and other countries where they have terrorist…and could RUIN us by taking our social security numbers and using our identies. OR worse. Why are foreign companies allowed to buy real estate here…not pay taxes for 6 years…transfer ownership *quit claim deed* to a cousin, leave and go back to their country, let their cousin run the business…as long as they are gone for about 2 months…and NO taxes again for another 6 years…and then it goes on and on and on…OH but the kicker…this country gives them grants, free everything even a college education…and loans to purchase these businesses out like candy.
YOU, try to go get a business loan…as an American. High interest rates…they want HIGH credit scores…and YOU PAY TAXES. Sorry, this is the wave of the future if someone does not control our country. I did not mean to be a downer…WE as Americans won’t own anything if this keeps up. We will be owned or mortgaged completely by other countries…then what?
Hi guys,
I just dropped by to see the lovely pictures of Taylor from Wednesday’s performance. He looks amazing, and I love the blue shirt/grey jacket combo. It’s wonderful to see him look so well. He is still pulling lots of fans to get his autograph it seems! Good for him!!
Henry thanks for the photos, they are beautiful!
Hello to chill, CBB, characteristicallyb, esmie and jeanni. I am gearing up for school and getting really busy. I am always reading but I can’t awlays comment, but I am HERE. I miss you guys.
Be well all.
Brightlite
Henry8,
If you’ve ever really done a study of what it takes to get a CD ready, OMG. I think Taylor is trying to give his fans a ball park figure of when he believes it to be (release), but I would think that’s all he can do at this point…but if there are delays, then there would be reason. I can’t image working full time as a star of Grease and now that he has his EW released through an exclusive with Target…Plus all the work Taylor himself must do….then I think we have to be patient.
For that matter, we don’t know if at present, Taylor will leave Grease in September. Its clear from all the published reports that Taylor Hicks has been the reason for the spark in attendance / sales ot tickets, the musical needed and they’ve certainly given him the publicity! He’s been very successful in this musical He has a suite in a celebrity condo in NY that was reportedly being furnished by an Interior Designer and most likely would be shown to the public. All this leads me to believe perhaps that Taylor is in process of making some decisions. He’s working! This is before he releases his CD and tours again. Remember how long he toured solo? Remember what the figure was said to be? Almost 4 million for his solo tour. He toured for TWO years straight. I think he deserves to do what he feels is best for the time being. ALL of this takes time and hard work by him and his management team. Just my thoughts on it
Jeanni–I agree with you. I didn’t ask the question to be critical. I want him to take all the time he needs. And you always want to release a cd at just the right time.
Just curious about what he might be thinking now about when its going to be.
I am curious to know if he is staying with Grease or not. Would be a good time to be in New York but not sure if thats what he wants to do right now.
Someone was saying they only want one idol at at time and Ace is joining.
Don’t know why that would be but who knows.
Right at this moment , I’m thinking he won’t stay, hes ready to move on but kind of hoping he does stay. Now watch me be wrong.
Not getting the drift on the cover? I scrolled down.
I guess all of our points are…we are behind him no matter what he decides to do. I would love to see him crack out a great CD…tour a little with it and then hit the big screen…maybe have a few of his songs playing on TV…or in a movie…just get all around…and rich as hell…and then…have his own way about everything…live in a mansion with security…and hire me as his maid. I can speak Birminghamian…even though I speak Atlantan better. Forget the maid…bad idea…I could be his piano tuner…oh shitake…never would want to do that…well, I know…I could go to work for his record company. Sounds good to me…:) Anyone need any Coke?
Brightlite…I know this must be a hectic time for you…man, it seems like you were just getting out. WTH? I guess teachers have to go back sooner than the kids. Kids are back in school here. Have been for a couple of weeks….it is quietier at the malls…the roads…the stores, and best of all…THE HAIR/NAIL/TANNING salons. Phew! They drain me…just gripping all the time…and they aren’t even mine. ROFL!
Goodluck BL. You are a wonderful teacher…now, show them your clouds.
I have to post this article I read once
The looooong post you put up last night CBB. Too long for me.
What I read, there were a few things right and then some bad information about who owns soundscan.
Soundscan is supposed to be honest but can be manipulated by people who know what they are doing. And especially if info is leaked to a fanbase.
I don’t really know or care, things all work out for the best eventually.
But I did find this article I read some time ago interesting. I would like to learn more about it. http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9405E7D61639F936A15752C0A960958260&sec=&spon=&pagewan…%20-%2045k%20-
Reading the article, I came to the conclusion that although soundscan is not altogether accurate its probably pretty reliable as you can only manipulate the numbers just so much. The biggest difference to me would be between the people who manipulate as much as they can and those that don’t do it at all.
I would very much like to read an updated article to see if things have gotten better or worse. There are really some huge crooks in the music business. So who knows really. Some people are way too suspicious and some are way too trusting.
Cbb,
Did you mean when I said to “scroll down?”…That seemed to be a Disney website of some kind…did you see the Jonas Brothers photo there? Just thought it was cool that Taylors CD (no cover) was there. Is that what you meant?
Henry8,
There’s only a “novel” when the informtion is extensive and there’s so much data that its unavoidable. “GOT THAT?”…LMAO. HA. Does that sound familiar? Couldn’t resist.
You asked the question about the music business? I believe Cbb had discussed it earlier? Well, as a matter of fact, (at least) three fansites last year, the questions were asked by a lot of members, because we were working on the “radio request project”, not only on Gray Charles, but most of the TH fan sites. Okay, got that? HA – Sorry, just had to do it.
Contrary to what a certain blog owner, thought to bitchingly explain, in her message today and failed miserbly, there is FAR more than what she said. I guess she lives in a dream world?
I think TH fans became educated about American Idol, its labels and its BIG bosses quite quickly – by seeking information from the FCC, court documents, articles about payola, the details of which shocked our socks off, at least most of us. We had no idea that AI was SO utterly involved and oh yes indeed, they are and were. As I’ve said many times, a Tiger cannot change its stripes….but I guess they can be demoted or fired aka Clive Davis? Seems ole Nivel has flown his once golden coop too, LOL.
Its an undeniable fact, the Attorney General’s office is so happy to oblige, because they placed it on the Internet for any inquiring mind. So having said that, since you asked and since Cbb was discussing it last night. Here are some articles, documentation for you and anyone else, to read if you’re so inclined. It will be in my next message so that you won’t attempt to repeat something I’m not fond of, either you want to know or not? Right?
As for Taylor and when his CD and tour will begin? Only he knows that or he may be waiting to see what his management, label and other focus will be. He’s made it known that touring is the thing he loves the most. We know right now that he owns a company, he represents another, he will have his own club in B’ham, AL by sometime in 2009 – He’s a star in Grease and he said he’ll have some gigs afterwards. He’s released and has a contract with Target. I would say that’s sure as hell enough on his plate for right now wouldn’t you? It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no, its Taylor Hicks, Soul Man.
Novel by Jeanni – Dedicated to all Chill’s chicks who like to be informed. Blame yourself Henry8, you asked – Don’t kill the messager (ME) – - INFO on SoundScan, payola, anything and everything – Interesting stuff. If you want to keep up on the latest, then the FCC and yeah, they’ll encourages you to write them, yes, it’s true –

1.” Record Sales Inflation Scheme” – Fine reporting by by Tom Arango in the NY Post –
NEWS –
Written by Eric Olsen
Published December 08, 2002
I ws just telling someone that Soundscan largely solved the significant problem of falsified sales figures for chart position, and then this turns up:
Independent music retailers are fabricating numbers reported to Nielsen Soundscan, inflating the number of albums sold by music labels such as white-hot Island Def Jam, The Post has learned.
It’s not clear who is behind the scheme, which involves shipping boxes of albums for free to some independent retailers, according to well-placed sources.
The retailers reap all the profits from the sale of the extra albums, and in exchange report bogus figures to Nielsen Soundscan, the standard reporting agency for the record industry, the sources say.
The record labels do not receive any income from the sale of the albums shipped free, nor do they profit directly from the bogus figures reported to Soundscan.
Labels could benefit from the bogus numbers, however, if they served to propel a record up the charts, boosting radio play and sales. Industry sources say Nielsen Soundscan numbers are typically factored into bonuses. But a spokesperson for Universal, the parent of Island Def Jam, said its executive compensation is not linked to the numbers and never has been.
This sounds like a darn fine deal for the retailers: free goods for overreporting – why not?
In one example of the sales inflation, an indie retailer in the Southeast recently reported to Nielsen Soundscan that it had sold roughly 3,000 percent more copies of Jay-Z’s new album, “Blueprint 2″ – an Island Def Jam release – than it actually did, according to sources both at the retail level and close to Universal.
The scheme was verified by another indie retailer in the Southeast, which typically reports to Nielsen Soundscan triple the amount actually sold. For example, this store sold roughly 50 copies of Jay-Z’s album recently, but scanned 150 for Nielsen Soundscan.
This source says the practice has been ongoing for about three years, and is not limited to Island Def Jam releases.
Someone somewhere is gaining something concrete we aren’t hearing about here. Something is missing for the picture – we don’t know the whole motive yet.
Fine reporting by by Tom Arango in the NY Post nonetheless.
Thanks for posting this. I can tell you what the motive and the reward is. If you go to the RIAA headquarters (The people who give Platinum and Gold certificates to artists) You will see that the board of directors is made up of the Entertainment companys who own the record labels involved in this scam. Sony/BMG are the major shareholders having 4 representatives on the board. They own all the American Idol record Labels such as Arista, Jrecords etc. Warner and Universal make up three representatives each on the RIAA board. They own several current record labels. If you go to the HDD charts every week you will see that these companies artists stay in the top 40 continuously. JT,Nickleback,Daughtry, Carrie Underwood have all been in the top 40 longer than any of the other artists. The supposedly HIGH sales figures this scam is generating for these artists is giving the RIAA ‘Board of Directors cum Record Companys the high numbers they need in order to grant themselves Platinum certificates. Clever isn’t it? It’s a shame that all those poor single record labels who pay their fees to be members of the RIAA do not benefit in any way at all. The greedy RIAA will always push these people down and not one of them is financially secure enough to fight this situation… so it continues. I do hope one day someone will ‘OUT’ these greedy people and we can go back to fair sales reporting.
If you go to this link it will give you the name of the Record Companys involved if you scroll to the bottom of the page.
here also is a link to the Board of Directors of the RIAA and the main shareholders being SONY/BMG, Universal and Warner.
The Merger:
The merger of Sony and BMG became legal in August, 2004, but getting there was an uphill battle. The labels faced charges that the merger violated monopoly and anti-trust laws, and independent record labels in most major music markets banded together to protest the merger. When the deal finally went through, Sony and BMG each held a 50% stake in the company.
Some of the loudest voices of protest to the merger were in the European Union, and thanks to a case brought by IMPALA , an independent label lobbying group, the EU withdrew their approval of the deal in July, 2006. The case is pending.
Payola Scandal:
In June, 2005, Sony BMG was forced to pay an estimated $10 million in fines after being found guilty by the state of New York of engaging in payola. The bulk of the charges surrounded payment for playing Jessica Simpson tracks. The Epic division of Sony BMG was singled out for running fake contests to cover up their payola – DJs were the only people ever to win prizes in their contests.
BITS AND PIECES (read it, its shocking and true) –
Our investigation (Attorney General) shows that, contrary to listener expectations that songs are selected for airplay based on artistic merit and popularity, air time is often determined by undisclosed payoffs to radio stations and their employees,” Spitzer said. “This agreement is a model for breaking the pervasive influence of bribes in the industry.”
After receiving tips from industry insiders, Spitzer’s office conducted a year-long investigation and determined that SONY BMG and its record labels had offered a series of inducements to radio stations and their employees to obtain airplay for the recordings by the company’s artists.
The inducements for airplay, also known as “payola,” took several forms:
• Outright bribes to radio programmers, including expensive vacation packages, electronics and other valuable items;
• Contest giveaways for stations’ listening audiences;
• Payments to radio stations to cover operational expenses;
• Retention of middlemen, known as independent promoters, as conduits for illegal payments to radio stations;
• Payments for “spin programs,” airplay under the guise of advertising.
Email correspondence obtained during the investigation shows that company executives were well aware of the payoffs and made sure that the company got sufficient airplay to justify these expenditures. (NOTE: See Part Six)
In discussing a bribe given to a radio programmer in Buffalo, one promotion executive at Sony BMG’s Epic Records wrote to a colleague at Epic:
Two weeks ago, it cost us over 4000.00 to get Franz [Ferdinand] on WKSE. That is what the four trips to Miami and hotel cost . . . At the end of the day, [David] Universal added GC [Good Charlotte] and Gretchen Wilson and hit Alex up for another grand and they settled for $750.00. So almost $5000.00 in two weeks for overnight airplay. He told me that Tommy really wanted him to do it so he cut the deal.
Most record industry executives embraced SoundScan’s sales-tracking service when it first launched in 1989, and they continue to do so, even while acknowledging that it tends to benefit mass merchants and major labels more than smaller stores and independent labels. According to Danny Goldberg, formerly a top executive at Atlantic Records and Warner Brothers, and now president of Artemis Records (an independent), SoundScan provides “much better information than was previously available”; nevertheless, he concedes, “the smaller the total number of units sold, the LESS accurate it is likely to be,” and data on releases with low sales figures can be “deceptive or downright inaccurate.” The Future of Music Coalition, an advocacy group for recording artists that studies the effects of new technologies on the business, reports that SoundScan is prohibitively expensive for many independent stores and labels. FMC executive director Jenny Toomey argues further that “SoundScan ushered in the age of ’scientific spaghetti’—i.e., you throw everything against the wall and ‘know’ in a week what has the best chance to stick over the long haul.”
NOTE: This was a very informative article, the cost of joining and maintaining one’s membership so to speak is VERY expensive. I learned a lot from this article.
Henry8…
Noooo, no blame girl…I think everyone whose interested would find it all quite fascinating. When I read some of the documented details, it was like a big fat puzzle. Yep, I was shocked and disturbed too. It was weird. After I had read the actual documentation from the FCC, especially the actual emails from Sony to the radio stations? LOL – I had an appointment and was driving. Turned on the radio and a song I hate was on a local FM station. I changed it and the same blasted song was playing! I changed the station to another local FM station…the END of the same bloody song! I just shook my head and thought…Well, at least I know now what’s going on, it was almost laughable when I heard the DJ talk about a contest that would was probably not legit, according to what I had read from the FCC. Sigh. So remember that if you should ever enter one of them, LOL. Before I see my name in “lights”…I’m only the messenger Knowledge is power babe.
Not sure all the PARTS made it in. That’s okay, they were pretty long. I have the links though. Its good to be informed, cause from what I got in a newsletter type email from the FCC a couple of months ago (I had an inquiry) they said that payola was so bad (not their word) that they had brought in the FBI. Good Lord. *cough*
Jeanni I think we’re missing parts 2, 3, 4, and 5.
That was all very interesting thank you for posting it all.
CBB I have to tell you this. Remember when we were talking about dogs and you said you were going to take pictures of your JoJo in his boa? (I’d still like to see those) I said back then that I’d someday like to have a Chinese Crested. I put a picture of one on my avatar that I think is really cute. That one is a hairy one but hey also come in hairless. A person where I work sometimes brings her hairless dog to work to visit us. She is so sweet and has the nicest temperment. Today she came all punked out. It was the cutes thing ever and I told her owner I wish I had my camera. She said she had brought pictures and gave me one. You have to see this you’re gonna love it, it’s so cute.
Cbb…
For old times sake, yeah…Taylor did have fun on Martha’s. He’s always in awe of new things and he’s appreciative for the opportunity, that’s pretty obvious! Thanks for the reminder This is one of my all time favorites, he was SO excited. Love it!
OMGosh…That is SO funny and cute LMAO4! Yeah, parts missing. Maybe in spam, LOL. I’ll wait till tomorrow, if they don’t show…I’ll name was it was and if anyone wants it, I’ll give a link one at a time. Read the emails. OMG!
I posted one on Martha abd Tay, Don’t see it either. Good gravy!! zzzzzzzz
Haha lmao4, I have to see if I can print that out. My neice raises chinese crested and takes them to dog shows. Shes always dressing them up in little shirts and stuff but I’ve never seen that. She has the ones with hair too. I like them better.
She also raises what they call crestypoos, Part crested , part poodle.
Don’t think thats a registered breed but they sure are cute.
When I was working on the “request project” thats when I really became educated about radio payola. Yes, its always been around, most people know that. However, its been really bad since those doucments were exposed in a series that ABC TV did on payola. I’ll try to post the link, it was fascinating.
IF you had a chance to read the actual data released by the FCC / Attorney General’s office – which were the emails between the DJ’s and SONY, then you could see if far more involved then just quarters and dimes. It was massive amounts of money, cars, trips, the works. Thats why DJ’s can no longer select the songs for the radio. The FCC required a “Program Director”…that’s almost a joke. There are go betweens, as in the LABEL and the radio stations. Its a racket or certainly appears to be. If you suspect one of your favorite stations is spinning a song too many times, you can write the FCC, they actually encourage it. IF it were not for the listener, radio stations wouldn’t exist, so you have that right.
Don’t you get tired of hearing the same songs over and over again on the radio… in one day? I sure do. I click the radio off now unless its news. They force feed the songs and we know why don’t we? Its obvious to me from the data I’ve read. OH well.
Jeanni I sure do get tired of the same ol songs played all of the time. I’d love more variety on the radio. A lot of what they play today just doesn’t appeal to me and a lot of it has a similar sound.
I love music…I enjoy listening in my car – However, like you and probably millions of people out there driving – the music today ALL sounds like…I can’t tell one from the other. I won’t name names, but you know what and who I mean?
I think these label moguls get in a rut, they think that since they made a pot full off a certain singer, that they should find ANOTHER one who sounds like him and do the same thing. Artists DO age and for some, thats the end of their career…. Music (voice) is enhanced in studios. When I heard JT in a live concert, he had at least 15 other singers and rap dudes “supporting” HIS voice, which was not impressive live. This is just my opinion however. I think too, Cbb and I saw it – His faked piano playing at the end of the concert was almost comical. Cbb of course being the pianist she is, noticed it right away. JT never played, the illusion was that he was playing. If he can play, then why was he NOT? The concert sounded TAPED…. It was actually sad to me. I can recall all the fine entertainers from the past that I’ve heard in concert and then what’s out there today? Awful.
Watching Taylor Hicks perform anywhere, especially on stage is totally awesome. We get the real thing, a real band, the man himself and he can do it all – the opportunity to experience what REAL music is. There is no contest whatsoever. Taylor is a blessing to those of us who enjoy his incrediable talent.
I have to say…Taylor’s voice is SO distinctive – I would know it anywhere! Not so today in the Top 40 market. BORING.
I’m taking a break – Have any of you read threads on the boards (TH) giving a figure for his EW sales for the first week? IF you have, then did those who posted the data give a source? One message I read said that they got it from SoundScan? If that’s so, then how? Would that someone have a subscription? I’ve asked, so we shall see – I don’t like comments without a source, you agree? See this –
“A Soundscan Crackdown: Have You Seen The Latest Nielsen Raidings?” –
The catch is that few people actually have access to these numbers, as they’re so expensive to obtain. As of last fall, subscribing to the full database would cost you nearly $15,000 per quarter. You might be able to find someone with a subscription who could do a few searches for you, but unless you had deep pockets, you had no way of finding regularly updated sales info. And now it’s going to get a lot harder: Last week, both Absolutepunk.net and Urbanconnects.com received cease-and-desist letters from Nielsen, demanding that Soundscan numbers be pulled from the site (we have zilch legal training, but we’re guessing it’s because the stats are protected proprietary information). Anyway, we’re wondering whether this may be the beginning of a crackdown, so if you’ve had tangles with Nielsen in the last few days—or heck, in the past few years -
Hi Girls,
Yeah, a long deserved break – HA – I was over on THHQ – Here’s a celebrity site where Taylor’s EW is being advertised. You can vote on it too, on the square with the hands up. Here’s the link – its cool –
Jeanni…Thanks for the info…I know there is so much more…but, it is good every once in a while to remember what certain musicians are up against and made fun of for something that is not true or accurate. Estimating is BS…Actual figures? Now, that suits me just fine. Seems everyone has their backs being scratched these days…When you make a KAZILLION dollars a month…a few million in fines costs less than loosing the free advertising by changing those numbers around.
Glad henry8 asked…quote…
“But I did find this article I read some time ago interesting. I would like to learn more about it.”
I knew the record companies had their fingers in on it. But, ya know…it is always worse than what we know. Can you only imagine what they really do? Funny…before someone is about to be sued or go down…they either get demoted, or resign or retire. Yep…never wanting to get caught. Someone was about to bite them in the ass…or they would not be going anywhere.
Nice to know that we have a place to come without being ridiculed for posting important information or just, hell, talking about what interests us. The book (troll comment) thing…was just an excuse because they did not want others to know the truth…nor the facts…and guess what? No one is gonna delete the facts here. I also received an email from the FCC…they basically told me that the investigation was still pending. They were sooo nice.
LMAO4…You have got to be kidding me? That is the most precious dog, OMG…adorable. Punked and Primped…to cute! Gotta get those photos online with JOJO. I love the hairless dogs…Chinese crested are adorable…and love the little bit of hair. Small dogs are just easier to take care of…eat less too. Jeanni has to put a huge blanket in her backseat to take her biggies to the vet. Then vaccum. She loves them so much and they are very smart. So gentle when they know you…or just have the instinct that you are not the enemy…but…if you are the enemy…hahaha…BYE BYE! A lady in my neighborhood lives by herself…she heard someone trying to breakin. Back then, we had no 911…she called the Opertor and waited on the phone under her bed. The dogs came in to tell her, well, she knew that she need not be afraid anymore, Police had not even arrived. These were Standard Poodles. Beautiful and White. I held her house open for sale and they just were as tame and sweet…I knew not to look them directly in the eye…as they were guard dogs…but, no problems…even when people arrived to look at her home. ANYWAY…she crawled out from under the bed…and the man that had broken in was dead. In her Living Room. They killed him. Police came and dogs had a bath and a treat…carpet got cleaned and life went on. She still has them. This is similar to a shephard. Quiet…then teeth…then…that is it, it is over. Little dogs can do damage too…mine can…tough little bugger even though he won’t look tough in his boa. HEE HEE! They let you know if anyone is around. Time to call 911 and pull out the guns. I am not afraid of anything. Now that I got my gun cleaned and ready to fire again. You have to be very careful if a gun isn’t clean…could backfire on you.
Heyy girls!! That recap yall were reading was mine!! Taylor answered that question from someone in my group and I was surprised at his answer. LOL Anyway, in my recap I left out that Taylor said it was BEER that he got drunk on, so when I read that you all had sent him beer I just had to get over here and let ya know. Ohhh he also said in describing this drunken state as ” oozing from his skin”, must have been some powerful beer!!
hahahahaha! Thanks lynnell (beautiful name by the way)
I hope it was the beer we sent, if I remember correctly, it was beer from different countries aournd the world.. I bet some were very strong!! LOL Poor guy, I bet the next day had to suck big time.
Yep, I would say it ( beer ) made quite an impression on him….lmao I definitely thought he would have had another answer to that question otherwise. lol
Hello Lynelle…Thanks for letting us know that. Lucky girls…well, most men can handle their beer…hee hee…even if it is oozing out…haha! Too funny! So…did you enjoy your time there? Tell us about it.
OMG Lynelle, I jokingly said that maybe we caused him to miss that one matinee. LMAO
Beers from around the world could have done it. Maybe he visited too many countries all at once.
Hi cbb…….. Had the time of my life, got to see Taylor everynight at the stagedoor and the performance 2 times. We thought about going to another show but Taylor won out over that. It is so much fun seeing new fans in the making for Taylor. I did not get close enough to get a hug this time since he was not out among us.
Needless to say, Taylor was great….the audience loved him and loads of people waiting by the barricades.
Hello Lynnelle!
Oh my! Yes, we sent the big basket of Beers From Around The World! All I can say about your wonderful experience with Taylor and Grease is WOW! We hope to go, working on it. Don’t be a stranger!
Cbb,
Oh Lord, I forgot about those dogs and what happened! I DO recall saying, “Are you kidding me, Poodles, NO way?!”….Never underestimate the loyalty of ones dogs, hm. I’ve since learned of their intelligence and abilities. *cough* –
That nice woman had dogs that one wouldn’t believe could be that protective, they were!
Nonetheless…Mine? Well, they scare the livin hell out of people! Not that they DO anything just by watching them, but rather in how they LOOK. When one of my dogs races to the gate when they hear something, is one thing, but when they ALL race to the gate? The combination of the four of them, is quite impressive and mighty comforting. Three black and tan and one sable. My female is almost as large as the boys, way over 135 lbs and she’s all muscle. The boys are outside and she’s inside *smiles* – Well, y’all have seen her photo.
Hey all, sorry I haven’t bee around much. Just got back from NYC last weekend, been sick since then. I was up there with Lynelle. I’m just gonna paste my re-cap here–hope you enjoy!!
I had a great time in the Big Apple Met up with about 25 peeps!!
The only bad thing was a rather lengthy delay at the airport that got me to NYC at 11:30 at night instead of 3:00 in the afternoon, and while I was either sitting on the floor of an airport or squashed up in a window seat next to a fat stinky guy in a plane on a runway for 7 hours, my friends and fellow Tay fans were talking to Sweet Daddy
They went to the stage door Thursday night with EW CDs in tow, wearing little red blinking guitars, there were 20 of them, so Tay went straight to them when he came out. He asked them, “Where did you get the CDs?” ummmmmmm——-Target—————come on Taylor—-I really don’t know about our man sometimes—–anyway, he was happy to see them and talked and signed all their CDs—oh yea–he looked smokin HOT
I’ll post some pics later.
After much sight-seeing and bar-hopping, we got all prettied up and went to see the play. Taylor had family and friends in town. Grandma Joni and his cousin Morgan were sitting right behind me. We were chatting with Grandma. She is so cute and very proud of Tay. She told us she saw his apartment and although it’s very nice, she still worries about him because he is all alone up here.
The only thing I could think of is (he’s only alone if he wants to be ) but we tried to assure her that we thought he would be fine.
The cone finally appears, man that thing is much smaller than I thought, I don’t know how they get all of that man in there, but I digress You know the story and it’s all true, he is cute, charming, goofy and funny, but not over the top goofy, just the right combination to pull the part off to perfection. The vocals are perfection
The look on his face when Frencie rubs his chest is priceless!!!!
Before he goes back up in the cone he struts across the stage and says Thanks for being such a great audience, and once to the top of the cone he puts his hand to his ear as if he can’t hear the applause, which is already crazy loud, well the whole audience busts out laughing, claps even louder (I didn’t think that was possible).
He really steals the show. While the others are good, his charm and stage prescence can’t be matched.
During the curtain call, he starts out doing the hand jive and then just does his own Taylor dance moves-so cute………….
When he’s supposed to be dancing with the girl in the back, they were just jumping around together and cracking up
We had a talk back with the cast. There were about 7 cast members on the stage. I wasn’t paying much attention because I could hear Taylor just off the stage, but couldn’t make out what he was saying. He came out and plopped down right in front of me. Oh lord, he looked so good! He had some phone numbers written down on slips of papers in his hand and was fiddling with them. He kept looking down at me and smiling, actually I think he was looking down my dress, cause it was low cut and he had a good view—-that’s what I like to think anyway
A girl can fantasize right?? Only had time for a few ?’s. The first to Tay was if 5 years ago he would have ever imagined being on broadway. He said no, TV yes but not broadway. Someone asked if he got hot in the cone. He said yes it is hot in there and he learned a very hard lesson.
Don’t go out and booze it up before you get in that cone. Cause you get in there and it gets all stinky with the beer oozing out of your pores then the damn thang starts moving and I said SHIT!!! All the other actors were laughing their asses off at him!!!!!! He’s just a good ole boy still. And it was all kinds of hot to have him talking like that so close to me!!!!!!!!!!
OMG…LMAO…Thanks so much Lynnelle and Patay…WHAT FUN!!!!!!!! I love that you took the time to tell us all about it. Lynnelle, you can get a hug another time…LOL…Man, that was really close and personal…and he is a ham. I love a man with a great sense of humor…not trying to big time it…just a la naturale! HAHA! I am so happy that you ladies had such a good time. I know that when his grandmother was in the audience at the Mobile, ALA concert…he did not shake his bootie too much…I think he was a little shy around her. Cute…isn’t it? He does respect her…which just shows…when he does find the perfect woman, he will treat her with respect. I adore manly men that have tender hearts and a great since of humor. Perfect package doesn’t hurt either…hee hee…:) Patay, do not forget to post the photos…I am counting on you! Thanks again!
Patay–that is so funny.
And thank you , it doesn’t sound like beer made him miss a show anyway. Just not so comfortable in the ice cream cone. It doesn’t smell to much like ice cream in there. LOL
Someone said that he asked people where they got their CDs so that other people around would hear and know where to get them. LOL. Not impossible.
Lynelle and Patay, you guys had one of the best recaps ever! LOL I love a recap that delves into what we really want to know — that he looked smokin HOT, haha. Looking down your low-cut top! That is hilarious. He’s just a man, right? Thanks for coming by. After a long day, that just what I needed. You had me cracking up. I’m so happy that you all had a great time in NYC! I can’t wait to see your pictures.
Clever Taylor, ah ha – “Where did you get the CD?” – Hmmm, exactly Henry8 – He was pleased, he’s proud of his Early Works and pleased they had bought it and wanted him to autograph HIS newly mastered CD, with all HIS songs, (with exception of a few). Nice move Taylor, even though I think it endearingly sweet! Loving that.
Well, the party of Taylor Hicks in Broadway’s Grease continues full force. No official word yet of a renewal into the Holiday season, and an extension is necessary for a American Idol battle between Taylor Hicks and Clay Aiken. Fans of Taylor have weighed in 50/50 on a Broadway stay, as he may also tour. Some fans would clearly travel to NYC to catch their Soul Patrol American Idol star on Broadway. News is that Taylor Hicks CD is now available exclusively through Target stores. It brings together 2 earlier Hicks independent albums and is called “Early Works.”
OH MY…That rocked! *sigh* loved it. Great review girls. Sounds absolutely fabulous!! Its so much better when you get it all…HA. Seeing that delicious man is SO worth it. Thank you so much for sharing the experience with us. Sounds like SO much fun, other than the air delay (whats new huh?) – WOW! Please share your photo’s!! THANKS!
Those are great pics. Taylor is gorgeous as ever. I really wish I could have gone to see him.
You look like you enjoyed the naked cowboy too. What a cute picture. If only Taylor would get into his underware and hug each of us like that. I mean really would that be too much to ask?
But lmao4, if Taylor hugged his fans like that . . . well, never mind. I’m not going there, changed my mind. LOL Put it this way, I’d hate for Taylor to be pushing his fans into traffic.
Patay, great pictures. Looks like you had a fun time in NYC. How cool! That’s how you’re supposed to behave when you’re on vacation. Cheers to the many adventures we have being fans of Taylor’s!
Oh how I wish I could hug Tay instead of that cowboy!! Tay does so much more to me just by the way he was glancing at me during our little talk back than that cowboy could ever do.
There is something magical about that man.
Thanks Patay! OMG…you had a ball…and got your butt grabbed too…all at the same time. Hey, the body guard is pretty hot…hmmm, and Taylor looked MARVELOUS DAHLING! You look like such a sweetheart…smiling too…ok, jealous…but, I hope to see him soon. Lucky ladies…so thankful you shared…RIDE UM COWBOY!
The body guard was a cutie. He had beautiful green eyes and I told him so. He was trying to be a tough New Yorka, but I think I softened him up some. We told him his bald head was all over the internet LOL that made the other guy raz him some. We had a good time with them.
But, once Taylor comes out that door they take their job serious, which is a good thing.
CBB you make a good point. Taylor always considers the safety of his fans first.
Patay I agree just having Taylor look at you out of the corner of his eye the way he does is enough. Anymore of that may cause thudding to occur and worse case scenario broken bones and a concussion.
I’m definitely going thru Tay withdrawal!!!
It’s hard to go back to normal life after such a wild vacation!! Definitely didn’t get to see Taylor long enough. He’s funny and cute and all kinds of awesome in Grease, but I just can’t wait to see him all hot and sexy on tour again!!!!!!!
Oh WOW, thank you for sharing the photos! I do love Taylor in those blue shirts. Oh Lord, here I go again, LMAO.
I think it would be nice to get a big hug from Taylor, that would work. (Smiles) – YES, Taylor needs the body guards, thank heavens! He looked wonderful – He has the most beautiful skin. *sighs*
I agree, I wanna see him on the stage, ANY stage asap. His concerts are the best I’ve ever seen. Not being biased, it’s the truth. I can’t wait to see him again and hear that soothing voice of his. Nothing compares!
I’m jealous too. Those are beautiful pictures. It is great you got to see Taylor.
I agree he looks amazing in baby blue colorer shirts. It’s just his color.
BL
Brightlite…How are ya school kids? Got any brats? Hope all your kids are good ones. I had a little smartiepants in one of my classes…but absolutely adorable. He was ALWAYS asking me for a dollar. Like a beggar…I called him Brat. He liked it. NOW…He is in the movies. Movie Star!!!!!!! Handsome? OMG…amazing young man. I popped into his myspace to say that the BRAT made it…and congrats…HE laughed…and asked me for a dollar.
I will give you a sneak peak of him. He was in a very very awesome movie that just came out. Naturally, he has a fake myspace and a real one just like most actors do…so, that is when you know when they have made it. BIG TIME! He is engaged or last I heard…but, what a hunk and this really does not show how good lookin’ this guy is…but, a sneak peak for sure. He is THE BOYFRIEND in Juianne Hough’s (from dancing with the stars) music video (first seen in a truck). I know she must have enjoyed the kiss in the end. Of course, I still see him as a little teen BRAT, well……..kinda . Here goes…enjoy…oh and remember BL…ya never know where these kids will end up…be nice. LOL
Cbb…
OMG….You are kidding me! He turned into a gorgeous man!! Wow!! Well, one thing is for sure – I thought she was a wonderful dancer, full of personality on “Dancing With The Stars”…She was my favorite in fact. LOVE her video and her brat is very handsome! Thanks for sharing that. I had no idea!
She was one of my favs…just looks like a Barbie doll. Yes, Jeanni, I will send you his myspace stuff…you will Laugh your bootie off…he did a prank thing to his girlfriend…and it was a little movie…OMG…LMAO…and honey, he is much finer than what he looked like in that video.
I have a question…you may have heard. Have all these people that have these Taylor Hicks domain names turned them over to Taylor yet? Especially one in paticular…said she bought it to GIVE to him? I probably know the answer. LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE! Did it for the gain. OH…and from what I heard and this can be considered from a close source to the man… the grandmother thing? NO WAY…not anymore. She found out. Saw what she had posted…and knows what she has been doing. SHE IS DONE in that department. HAHA! KARMA! Now…she needs to “MOVE ON” hahaha…whatever she would do from now on, would be to cover up having been ditched. What goes around…comes around.
Cbb,
Yes, I would like to have the link to his myspace…if you please?
Actually, I think the “domain names” were very curious to begin with. The first one was posted on TH fan sites, with a (odd) little story, gads – Some thought it was Taylor, others thought it might be another fellow, we just didn’t know what it was! Don’t know if we will ever know. Its not of importance to me, but I would imagine it was of interest to Taylor and his management? Maybe its common place, since some people use his name for profit? Just my opinion again. Being in business myself, its logical to assume that to be the case, just sounds about right, who knows?
Then whenever the label name – which was named and included in Taylor’s first two early CD’s was mentioned, we found (as everyone knows) that someone had bought a domain name with that very name? Apparently doing nothing with it until Taylor announced that his EW CD would be remastered and released? That was strange to me, should have been to anyone else whose a fan of Taylors. Why would someone buy a domain name which just happened to be the name of Taylor’s LABEL? Ah yes, for profit I imagined at the time? You or anyone else can see that it’s occupied with stuff about Taylor’s CD’s – The two earlier ones and his EW with a link I believe to his My Space page? I find it all very strange – Just my opinion grant you, I would imagine it would be annoying for Taylor and his management. I have no idea since I don’t own a domain name which bears his name nor his label, nor would I personally ever attempt to. I find it…unsettling. Just my opinion on the subject. This said, I daresay I’m not adding to the controversy, its already been established to be one by the looks of the fansites discussion on domain names bearing Taylor’s label and other such names associated with him. So my opinion is just based on what I’ve read from the boards and from one of those who own a domain name which bears the name of Taylor’s label. The EW release bears that to be true – Its on the inside cover – “Label, Modern Whomp Music.” is what it says. Along with who reprsents him and other information. That’s all I know from what I’ve read.
OH…I get it. She *the witch* did not give him the domain name after all…probably tried to sell it to him…HAHAHA…and he found out. What do ya bet me? Jeanni. User all the way from the beginning. Hope those hits go away…or someone from Taylor’s camp lets her have it! I already know…that they know what she is up to and that they know that she is a LIAR! Looks like ALL of um know. Including his relatives. Small world…Karma…that biting in the butt thingie…hee hee! Just sit back and watch…best thing to do. What was that song by the Stones that mentioned …FADE AWAY!?
OKOK, ladies…I will find his myspace…and other things…he’s a hunk for sure…but only about 26. HAHAHA! He moved back to California…got that groove on. I can’t see much of anything but a teenybopper cause of my old relationship…when that starts to slip…I go…NO NO NO…hee hee…but, you guys can adore him. Let me see what I can find…if you saw the mess my computer files are in? OMG. Ok…busy searching.
Cbb…
I have no idea what certain people’s agenda is. I’ve never done that myself and wouldn’t…Especially to a man I admire and respect, Taylor Hicks.
So, whatever she or any of them do – who use Taylor’s name for profit, that’s something they’ll have to live with I imagine? When I became a fan, I didn’t realize this type of thing existed. It does and it has. Hopefully those type of things work out for Taylor in HIS favor.
I think American Idol was an education on what goes on in the entertainment world and it ain’t pretty is it? What a shame, I enjoyed Season Five. The next season, with all the disfavor shown to Taylor… I loathed the show. Never watched it since. Too bad they didn’t have someone in their organization who could advise them on their very disrespectful behavior towards the winner of season five and the fans too. We pay the bills lest they noticed? A shame. Enough of that, it no longer interests me.
Speaking of the Idol fockers. I saw several google alerts today about the new judge they’ve added. This is one of the only articles about it that didn’t blast Taylor as an aside to the story. Good job, Washington Post.

Take care.

Chill wrote
We are all somebody’s troll.
One man’s troll is another’s hero – depending on whether you agree or disagree with his or her views.
If you agree with someone, you naturally think he/she is smart. That’s because you think you are smart and therefore he/she must be smart to share your views.
If you disagree with someone, then you naturally think he/she is an idiot. You can’t possibly think of him/her as smart because that automatically means that you are an idiot to hold opposing views.
************************
chill…This is a great assessment. I agree.
I walk my own road, and I agree ONLY with ideas or principles, not with with people themselves.
chill // August 17, 2008 at 4:59 pm

This shit did not begin with and is not exclusive to Taylor’s fan base, that’s for sure.
chill // August 17, 2008 at 6:49 pm
A distinction must be made between true trolls, newbies who are undergoing growing pains as they attempt to adjust to community standards, and regular community members who simply have strong but otherwise harmless, dissenting opinions. Trolls should be removed, newcomers assisted, and contributing community members given at least a modicum of respectful distance.
henry8 // August 17, 2008 at 7:34 pm
They really take themselves quite seriously.
chill // August 17, 2008 at 8:42 pm
Henry, what I posted up there was meant to be troll humor.
I am shocked at what I’ve been reading. haha I had no idea that what we’ve been experiencing on the fan sites has been studied and written about. A cultural phenomenon. Who would have thunk it?
brightlite // August 17, 2008 at 9:24 pm

Pay up.
brightlite // August 17, 2008 at 9:27 pm
oh I meant trolls not rolls. And I apologize in advance if saying talk of trolls and chrolls is boring. I am SORRY. To me it is boring. I am not saying it isn’t important to you guys, it must be if you are talking about it.
Does this sound fsmiliar?
Carry on…
henry8 // August 17, 2008 at 9:28 pm
oh yes, chill.
You have to cut the strings.
henry8 // August 17, 2008 at 9:29 pm
Now for some fun.
I put one similar to this on the last blog. This is short but very, very, close and oh, so good.
When you get to youtube be sure and click on the “play in high quality” and put it on full screen.
celebrityblondebabe // August 17, 2008 at 9:49 pm
HAHA!
brightlite // August 17, 2008 at 10:11 pm

LOL
Sorry to bore you. I’ll try not to do it again.
chill // August 17, 2008 at 10:33 pm
Henry, that was the cutest! Awww!
I like what she says about the video: “this is where I get caught by Taylor videotaping…..at around 8 or 9 seconds in……I’m only doing this for you Taylor……..some people don’t get to see you so I want to share you with them…..” hahaha
lmao4 // August 17, 2008 at 11:06 pm
Here’s one for those of us who want to move on.
chill // August 17, 2008 at 11:18 pm
Why, esmie, that troll has been identified as the destructive troll. “The primary purpose of this type of troll is to completely destroy the group it has infiltrated. Destructive trolls may work on their own, or possibly in teams or gangs.”
haha, see what I’m talking about? Maybe the residue of tequila has me fascinated with the subject.
chill // August 17, 2008 at 11:31 pm
One more tidbit on the troll subject and then I’m done. LOL
As unpleasant as it is to talk about, this is happening to Taylor’s fans. I don’t want to dwell on the subject or rehash events, but there is a methodology to a troll’s madness.
lmao4 // August 18, 2008 at 12:20 am
That’s quite a list chill and with an exception of a couple of things listed there I wouldn’t even classify that person as a troll but instead would call them a criminal. Most of the things on that list are illegal.
Jeanni // August 18, 2008 at 12:24 am

LOL Seems bullies are a popular subject tonight. Not just here.
celebrityblondebabe // August 18, 2008 at 7:40 am

In the mean time, right now, I’m enjoying “Early Works”…simply amazing, the remastering is perfection. Lord, Taylors voice is so easy on the ears and yet he grabs the heart too. He’s a wonderful songwriter, I’m loving it.
Sounds good to me girl

Hi again
Thanks chill for the welcome. I am much calmer now. I was a in a Nursing hangover and I should learn to not post when I am sleep deprived and really unable to participate in any discussion. All of the posted videos have helped me mellow out to my usual emotional level. Thanks again for the welcome. I will try to lurk less/participate more.

I have a black persian cat with amber colored eyes. Maybe that’s why I see that in the picture.

battay // August 18, 2008 at 11:52 pm
I know this sounds weird but I compare my Talor experience to the the movie Close Encounter of the Third Kind- remember the scene where Richard Dryfuss had to make the mashed potato mountain on top of the dining room table- thats the way I felt when I discovered Taylor- I had to get with others who understood how I felt. I have only had good experiences with Taylor fans.
lmao4 // August 18, 2008 at 11:59 pm
Atleast 95% of my experiences have been good with Taylor fans too. It’s been a really fun 2 years and I’ve met a lot of nice people, flown across the country to attend concerts with people I’ve never met in person and made a lot of special friendships. If anyone would have told me when I logged on and first posted on the boards after watching AI season 5 a couple times how much my life would change for the better because of the gray haired guy I would have never believed it.
chill // August 19, 2008 at 12:01 am
Hi, Battay. Hi, lmao4. We’re up late tonight, I see!
Battay, I don’t remember the mashed potato scene. haha, I’m going to look for it on youtube. You’ve piqued my curiosity.

I’m still seeing a killer fly. Wonder what that means?
Hi, henry.
I’m off to bed. I have to work in the morning. Have a good rest of the night, guys!
celebrityblondebabe // August 19, 2008 at 1:23 am
Jeanni // August 19, 2008 at 3:23 am
Have a good day everybody!
chill // August 19, 2008 at 7:27 am
Good morning, everyone! Damn, feels like my head barely touched the pillow.
They close the schools during Mardi Gras?
characteristicallyb // August 19, 2008 at 9:05 am
Yep CBB that’s me! Bitchy!
Oh, and now that you said your shrimp looked like a bug… my love for crustacean is gone.
But, then again.. I never liked bottom dwellers..
characteristicallyb // August 19, 2008 at 9:11 am
Welcome battay!
celebrityblondebabe // August 19, 2008 at 2:02 pm
Jeanni // August 19, 2008 at 2:53 pm
Check this out, its really cute…
http://www.cityofmobile.org/mardigras.php
celebrityblondebabe // August 19, 2008 at 3:10 pm
Jeanni…something else that others may not know about Mobile, Alabama…is that the city is pumped up. It was underwater. Originally…you entered into Mobile thru an underwater bridge which is still there…goes under the bay…fun becaue all blow their horns and do little contest with different beats…but, people are buried above ground…not underground or they will hit water. Part of New Orleans is pumped up as well. Maybe all of it. All I remember thinking as a child is that if I dug down too far with my little bucket and shovel…I would hit water. :O
chill // August 19, 2008 at 3:48 pm
CBB, what are you blaming on me now? LOL I don’t see a bug up there, I told you, I see a killer fly. How I’m getting blamed for people not eating shrimp anymore, I’ll never know. haha Jeanni, have you said what your interpretation of the ink blot is yet? I’m sending all the responses off to be analyzed, mine included. Some woman named Lois in Texas.
Jeanni // August 19, 2008 at 4:17 pm
Hope that helped?
lmao4 // August 19, 2008 at 4:52 pm
I’d love to live near the coast where I can eat lots of fresh seafood.
characteristicallyb // August 19, 2008 at 5:20 pm
CBB- I think shrimp, oysters and crab are considered bottom dwellers or feeders also.
Oh, those jellie shoes were the most un-godly uncomfortable creation ever made! They made everyone’s feet sweat and look like mini Eggo waffles.

Yeah, that’s it, my Taylor lifestyle! haha, Didn’t someone coin that phrase on the Boogie? Taylor is a lifestyle choice, I love that.
And henry, I’m not sure which comment you’re referring to. Is it unprintable?

Its printable, He said that he had learned never to get drunk when you had a show the next day. Hahahahaha
henry8 // August 19, 2008 at 10:59 pm
Yes lifestyle choice came from boogie.

Jeanni…did you not report about that from the B’ham news?
henry8 // August 20, 2008 at 12:17 am
Just because everyone should listen to this every few days or so. I love it more every time I hear it.

I will think of a couple more questions just for the heck of it. Right now I must go to bed. We had a couple truck loads of stuff come into the store today.
Depression glass, older green glassware, pottery. All good and all dirty. Someone cleaning out their grandmothers house. Lots of work. But fun.

question for Tay.
Do you think you might ever tour with LMBO again?
henry8 // August 20, 2008 at 7:56 am
One more question
Would you ever do the Star Spangled Banner on the harp?
henry8 // August 20, 2008 at 7:57 am
And the same one I asked before.
When touring in the early days, what is the worst vehicle you ever tried to tour in?
henry8 // August 20, 2008 at 7:59 am
And I know someone who has been trying to get a answer to this for a long time.
Do you like salmon croquettes?
celebrityblondebabe // August 20, 2008 at 8:49 am
WHO wouldn’t like salmon croquettes?
I damn wish LMBO would be his band…I don’t think Loren Gold was with them…but he stays…don’t take my Loren away. Hey my friend from another few boards…had my same crush I think…she had some great shots with him and wish she would get her bootie over here and post…She had many photos of she and Loren. His fingers are magic…his face, well, precious…sexy and enchanting…his demeanor, well..like I said…HE FRIGGIN STAYS!
Jeanni // August 20, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Henry..
Cooking? That was so cute!!!
celebrityblondebabe // August 20, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Music becomes me.
chill // August 20, 2008 at 4:22 pm

henry8 // August 20, 2008 at 9:36 pm
I think he would like to be in a comedy.
Thats a pretty good question.
Theres a bunch of stuff I would like to ask him about AI. But I don’t think he would answer so there wouldn’t be much point.
henry8 // August 20, 2008 at 9:39 pm
I would ask him if there is a date that he is determined to have the new cd out by. And if he might do a video.
And if the new cd is delayed awhile, could he give the fans a little sample of the music in it. Just to keep them from going beserk and running amuk.
henry8 // August 20, 2008 at 9:43 pm
I would like to ask him this.
Taylor, some fans were a little worried that being in a Broadway show might make it hard for you to be taken seriously as a musician. I don’t really understand that, do you?
henry8 // August 20, 2008 at 9:52 pm
Taylor, does a serious musician have to sell millions of albums to be considered a success?
I’m on a roll with the questions.
celebrityblondebabe // August 20, 2008 at 10:37 pm
henry…I think Taylor answered that last one over and over again.

CBB, you on the Cola again? haha
Jeanni // August 21, 2008 at 2:07 am

My question to Taylor? – -
Well, I would have some for sure. I would like to know how he learned such self control when gossip blogs were slandering him? How did he manage to remain the gentleman he’s always been?
He just didn’t think they were worth acknowledging whatsoever. – - Wonder how close I came?
Henry8,
Right now, he’s doing a job, a fine one at that in Grease…this is an opportunity for him…and I really like the idea. He’s become even more polished on the stage. SMART man that Taylor!
I would love to see him in a romantic comedy. Taylor’s handsome, great with the camera, funny and I think he would be a wonderful leading man. Would love to see him in film. OH YEAH.
I would be first in line!!
taylordays // August 21, 2008 at 3:30 am
With his sense and comedic timing – I always thought Tay would be perfect in any Cary Grant role.
And CBB – agree – the numbers have never made sense. Taking it you read about the Jaycee scandal. At least I think it was Jaycee.
Kind of feels like we’re back in the 50’s radio/music morass.
henry8 // August 21, 2008 at 9:12 am

Henry8,
If you’ve ever really done a study of what it takes to get a CD ready, OMG.

Hi, bright!!
Now watch me be wrong.
celebrityblondebabe // August 21, 2008 at 9:40 pm

I would like to learn more about it.
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9405E7D61639F936A15752C0A960958260&sec=&spon=&pagewan…%20-%2045k%20-
henry8 // August 21, 2008 at 10:23 pm
Reading the article, I came to the conclusion that although soundscan is not altogether accurate its probably pretty reliable as you can only manipulate the numbers just so much. The biggest difference to me would be between the people who manipulate as much as they can and those that don’t do it at all.
I would very much like to read an updated article to see if things have gotten better or worse. There are really some huge crooks in the music business. So who knows really. Some people are way too suspicious and some are way too trusting.
Please , no novels, my head hurts.
henry8 // August 21, 2008 at 10:24 pm
Poor, sad little henry can’t take much you know.
Jeanni // August 21, 2008 at 10:50 pm
Cbb,
Is that what you meant?
Did you mean when I said to “scroll down?”…That seemed to be a Disney website of some kind…did you see the Jonas Brothers photo there? Just thought it was cool that Taylors CD (no cover) was there.
Jeanni // August 21, 2008 at 11:08 pm
Henry8,
There’s only a “novel” when the informtion is extensive and there’s so much data that its unavoidable.

1.” Record Sales Inflation Scheme” – Fine reporting by by Tom Arango in the NY Post –
http://blogcritics.org/archives/2002/12/08/195632.php –

SONY BMG Profile
By Heather McDonald, About.com –
http://musicians.about.com/od/companyprofiles/p/SonyBMG.htm

Payola Admission: Gifts and Bribes Made to Radio Stations and Staff by SONY BMG
Dateline: 07/25/05
By Corey Deitz, About.com –
http://radio.about.com/od/crimeradio/a/aa072505a.htm
• Outright bribes to radio programmers, including expensive vacation packages, electronics and other valuable items;
• Contest giveaways for stations’ listening audiences;
• Payments to radio stations to cover operational expenses;
• Retention of middlemen, known as independent promoters, as conduits for illegal payments to radio stations;

SoundScan –
http://www.publishersweekly.com/article/CA265977.html

Knowledge is power babe.
Before I see my name in “lights”…I’m only the messenger

Good Lord. *cough*

I said back then that I’d someday like to have a Chinese Crested.

This is one of my all time favorites, he was SO excited. Love it!
For old times sake, yeah…Taylor did have fun on Martha’s. He’s always in awe of new things and he’s appreciative for the opportunity, that’s pretty obvious! Thanks for the reminder

taylordays // August 22, 2008 at 12:55 am
Those links and articles are very interesting – and they reminded me of the articles exposing the mess radio was in in the 50’s.
Jeanni // August 22, 2008 at 12:58 am
OMGosh…That is SO funny and cute LMAO4! Yeah, parts missing. Maybe in spam, LOL. I’ll wait till tomorrow, if they don’t show…I’ll name was it was and if anyone wants it, I’ll give a link one at a time. Read the emails. OMG!
I posted one on Martha abd Tay, Don’t see it either. Good gravy!! zzzzzzzz
henry8 // August 22, 2008 at 1:12 am
Haha lmao4, I have to see if I can print that out. My neice raises chinese crested and takes them to dog shows. Shes always dressing them up in little shirts and stuff but I’ve never seen that. She has the ones with hair too. I like them better.
She also raises what they call crestypoos, Part crested , part poodle.
Don’t think thats a registered breed but they sure are cute.
lmao4 // August 22, 2008 at 1:21 am
I bet they are really cute Henry. I love poodles too. I had a toy one once a long time ago. She was the best dog.
Jeanni // August 22, 2008 at 12:00 pm
Hi Taylordays,
When I was working on the “request project” thats when I really became educated about radio payola.
OH well.
lmao4 // August 22, 2008 at 12:04 pm
Jeanni I sure do get tired of the same ol songs played all of the time. I’d love more variety on the radio. A lot of what they play today just doesn’t appeal to me and a lot of it has a similar sound.
Jeanni // August 22, 2008 at 12:44 pm
Lmao4,
I love music…I enjoy listening in my car – However, like you and probably millions of people out there driving – the music today ALL sounds like…I can’t tell one from the other.
BORING.
Jeanni // August 22, 2008 at 1:32 pm
Hi Girls,
I’m taking a break – Have any of you read threads on the boards (TH) giving a figure for his EW sales for the first week? IF you have, then did those who posted the data give a source? One message I read said that they got it from SoundScan? If that’s so, then how? Would that someone have a subscription? I’ve asked, so we shall see – I don’t like comments without a source, you agree? See this –
“A Soundscan Crackdown: Have You Seen The Latest Nielsen Raidings?” –
http://idolator.com/tunes/soundscan/a-soundscan-crackdown-have-you-seen-the-latest-nielsen-raidings-231093.php
Anyway, we’re wondering whether this may be the beginning of a crackdown, so if you’ve had tangles with Nielsen in the last few days—or heck, in the past few years -
Jeanni // August 22, 2008 at 2:16 pm
Hi Girls,
Here’s the link – its cool –
Yeah, a long deserved break – HA – I was over on THHQ – Here’s a celebrity site where Taylor’s EW is being advertised. You can vote on it too, on the square with the hands up.
http://www.celebrifi.com/sub.php?sid=21789
celebrityblondebabe // August 22, 2008 at 3:07 pm
You have to be very careful if a gun isn’t clean…could backfire on you.
lynnelle // August 22, 2008 at 5:22 pm
Heyy girls!! That recap yall were reading was mine!! Taylor answered that question from someone in my group and I was surprised at his answer. LOL Anyway, in my recap I left out that Taylor said it was BEER that he got drunk on, so when I read that you all had sent him beer I just had to get over here and let ya know. Ohhh he also said in describing this drunken state as ” oozing from his skin”, must have been some powerful beer!!
tif // August 22, 2008 at 6:50 pm
hahahahaha! Thanks lynnell (beautiful name by the way)
I hope it was the beer we sent, if I remember correctly, it was beer from different countries aournd the world.. I bet some were very strong!! LOL Poor guy, I bet the next day had to suck big time.
lynnelle // August 22, 2008 at 7:12 pm
Thanks tif.
Yep, I would say it ( beer ) made quite an impression on him….lmao I definitely thought he would have had another answer to that question otherwise. lol
celebrityblondebabe // August 22, 2008 at 7:15 pm
Hello Lynelle…Thanks for letting us know that. Lucky girls…well, most men can handle their beer…hee hee…even if it is oozing out…haha! Too funny! So…did you enjoy your time there? Tell us about it.
henry8 // August 22, 2008 at 7:59 pm
OMG Lynelle, I jokingly said that maybe we caused him to miss that one matinee. LMAO
Beers from around the world could have done it. Maybe he visited too many countries all at once.
lynnelle // August 22, 2008 at 7:59 pm
Have you been yet?
Jeanni // August 22, 2008 at 9:15 pm
Have a good night everybody, whats left of it.:)
patay // August 22, 2008 at 9:34 pm
And it was all kinds of hot to have him talking like that so close to me!!!!!!!!!!
celebrityblondebabe // August 22, 2008 at 9:52 pm
Thanks again!
henry8 // August 22, 2008 at 10:10 pm
LMAO
Patay–that is so funny.
And thank you , it doesn’t sound like beer made him miss a show anyway. Just not so comfortable in the ice cream cone. It doesn’t smell to much like ice cream in there. LOL
Someone said that he asked people where they got their CDs so that other people around would hear and know where to get them. LOL. Not impossible.
chill // August 23, 2008 at 1:04 am
Lynelle and Patay, you guys had one of the best recaps ever! LOL I love a recap that delves into what we really want to know — that he looked smokin HOT, haha. Looking down your low-cut top! That is hilarious. He’s just a man, right? Thanks for coming by. After a long day, that just what I needed. You had me cracking up.
I’m so happy that you all had a great time in NYC! I can’t wait to see your pictures.
Jeanni // August 23, 2008 at 1:05 am
Hey girls,
Clever Taylor, ah ha – “Where did you get the CD?” – Hmmm, exactly Henry8 – He was pleased, he’s proud of his Early Works and pleased they had bought it and wanted him to autograph HIS newly mastered CD, with all HIS songs, (with exception of a few). Nice move Taylor, even though I think it endearingly sweet! Loving that.
Jeanni // August 23, 2008 at 1:09 am
Girls,
Anyone see this?
“Big Headlines For Broadway Idol” –

Those are great pics. Taylor is gorgeous as ever. I really wish I could have gone to see him.
You look like you enjoyed the naked cowboy too. What a cute picture. If only Taylor would get into his underware and hug each of us like that. I mean really would that be too much to ask?
chill // August 23, 2008 at 9:40 pm
But lmao4, if Taylor hugged his fans like that . . . well, never mind. I’m not going there, changed my mind. LOL Put it this way, I’d hate for Taylor to be pushing his fans into traffic.
Patay, great pictures. Looks like you had a fun time in NYC. How cool! That’s how you’re supposed to behave when you’re on vacation. Cheers to the many adventures we have being fans of Taylor’s!
patay // August 23, 2008 at 9:51 pm
Oh how I wish I could hug Tay instead of that cowboy!! Tay does so much more to me just by the way he was glancing at me during our little talk back than that cowboy could ever do.
There is something magical about that man.
celebrityblondebabe // August 23, 2008 at 9:52 pm
Thanks Patay! OMG…you had a ball…and got your butt grabbed too…all at the same time. Hey, the body guard is pretty hot…hmmm, and Taylor looked MARVELOUS DAHLING! You look like such a sweetheart…smiling too…ok, jealous…but, I hope to see him soon. Lucky ladies…so thankful you shared…RIDE UM COWBOY!
patay // August 23, 2008 at 10:00 pm
The body guard was a cutie. He had beautiful green eyes and I told him so. He was trying to be a tough New Yorka, but I think I softened him up some. We told him his bald head was all over the internet LOL that made the other guy raz him some. We had a good time with them.
But, once Taylor comes out that door they take their job serious, which is a good thing.
lmao4 // August 23, 2008 at 10:03 pm
CBB you make a good point. Taylor always considers the safety of his fans first.
Patay I agree just having Taylor look at you out of the corner of his eye the way he does is enough. Anymore of that may cause thudding to occur and worse case scenario broken bones and a concussion.
patay // August 23, 2008 at 10:09 pm
I’m definitely going thru Tay withdrawal!!!
It’s hard to go back to normal life after such a wild vacation!! Definitely didn’t get to see Taylor long enough. He’s funny and cute and all kinds of awesome in Grease, but I just can’t wait to see him all hot and sexy on tour again!!!!!!!
lmao4 // August 23, 2008 at 10:13 pm
I’ve been having withdrawls for a long time now. It’s been almost a year since I’ve seen him perform. I can’t take much more.
Jeanni // August 24, 2008 at 2:45 am

I popped into his myspace to say that the BRAT made it…and congrats…HE laughed…and asked me for a dollar.
celebrityblondebabe // August 24, 2008 at 12:30 pm
I will give you a sneak peak of him. He was in a very very awesome movie that just came out. Naturally, he has a fake myspace and a real one just like most actors do…so, that is when you know when they have made it. BIG TIME! He is engaged or last I heard…but, what a hunk and this really does not show how good lookin’ this guy is…but, a sneak peak for sure. He is THE BOYFRIEND in Juianne Hough’s (from dancing with the stars) music video (first seen in a truck). I know she must have enjoyed the kiss in the end. Of course, I still see him as a little teen BRAT, well……..kinda
. Here goes…enjoy…oh and remember BL…ya never know where these kids will end up…be nice. LOL

Thanks for sharing that. I had no idea!
OMG….You are kidding me! He turned into a gorgeous man!! Wow!! Well, one thing is for sure – I thought she was a wonderful dancer, full of personality on “Dancing With The Stars”…She was my favorite in fact. LOVE her video and her brat is very handsome!
celebrityblondebabe // August 24, 2008 at 4:49 pm

Hey all. Will be in the place later hope all of u are or least some lol Have some stuff to ask opinions on.
Jeanni // August 24, 2008 at 6:38 pm
Cbb,
Yes, I would like to have the link to his myspace…if you please?

Article about the show I’ll never watch again because they’re fockers!
